23.01.2022 Recently Yr 9 and 10 Brauer Digital Technologies students have been using artificial intelligence tools to create a chatbot. The students had to make the chat bot as life like as they could. They also needed to make the chat bot cater to user experience, or lack of. This meant writing code that could deal with a wide range of responses. We drew inspiration from Google's new Google Assistant AI. Congratulations to Yr 8 Caitlin Fehsler who made a fun, life like chat bot. use the link to check out Googles AI assistant and Caitlin's chatbot. 22.01.2022 Its been a long time in the making but this drone should take flight in the next few weeks. Its an amazing effort from a Yr 9 and 11 student.
22.01.2022 Heres some pics from when we went to Albert Park. The next day it was shut down!
21.01.2022 One of my boys getting stuck into making. A super loud blue tooth stereo. (seriously, this thing is annoying loud on its quietest setting!
18.01.2022 Students will be making planes and optimising for peak performance.
17.01.2022 Check out what my Yr 9 legends have been making for the Brauer virtual Open Night. This suit strobes light in time to the music that the dancers will be performing to. They have also coded different light sequences for the verses and chorus. Awesome effort Milo, Kix, Nick, Fletch, Maddy and Rain. Ps Rain isnt one of the dancers haha
14.01.2022 Some more pics of our W'bool Model Aircraft excursion. We learnt about aircraft design.
11.01.2022 Today we got to launch our first C02 powered car. The car body was made using AutoDesk Inventor Computer aided design software.
08.01.2022 Heres a back stage sample of what the Yr 9 crew put together. When we got to the studio the USB ports malfunctioned but the guys quickly found and stripped some alternative cords. Even an exploded controller didnt stop them. Look out world, these guys are gunna make a difference!
08.01.2022 The Yr 9 and 10 Digital Engineers travelled to the Warrnambool Model Aircraft club to learn more about aircraft design. Students were treated to an exhibition of model aircraft designs. Rod and Harry explained different fuels, engines, weight distributions and control concepts to the students. As a bonus, students got to have a go at flying the model planes! The students will now take this knowledge back to school and apply it to the model aircraft they are making. Students will time and chart their aircraft performance and then modify their craft to improve their charted data of speed and altitude. A huge thanks to Rod and Harry for taking the time to show us their amazing planes and knowledge.
08.01.2022 And for a different kind of tech..... I'm teaching food tech at the moment. Check out the food these guys are churning out during remote learning. https://padlet.com/08325130/Bookmarks
06.01.2022 Whats this mess of wires? Its a GPS logger. The plan was to make them and introduce students to data science by logging GPS data whilst mountainbiking in the Otways.... Maybe next semester.
05.01.2022 Yr 9s are about to start microcontroller electronics. The end products look like this. A planter box that can water when required by measuring soil conductivity. It also turns on light through the day to give the plants a boost.
04.01.2022 CAD + coding + electronics + microcontroller = cool lamp. Awesome work Milo!
04.01.2022 Some insane wiring and coding work by a Yr 8 girl whos learning robotics for the first time. Its great to see young women having a crack at electronics.
03.01.2022 The engine room for the virtual open nights electronics. These students can do with some coding creativity and a micro controller.
02.01.2022 Some more pics of our Wbool Model Aircraft excursion. We learnt about aircraft design.

02.01.2022 Heres a project Im really excited about! The Yr 9s and 10s have been learning Computer Aided Design skills using Autodesk Inventor software. We will then use a CNC machine to cut the balsa blocks into the shapes the students have designed. Students will assemble and paint the cars. Finally we will race them with Emmanuel College. (big shout out to Emmanual and BMac for cutting out our cars with their CNC machine.)
01.01.2022 Unity, the software used to make more than half the worlds games will be coming to Brauer in Semester two. Although we will be making games, the same principles apply to all software making. It utilises C# language.
