19.01.2022 Here’s the finished garden seat , the inspiration comes from the box trees back home around Conargo, NSW . Thank heaps to my Dad for walking along the stock route to get a good photo of those trees.

17.01.2022 In order to share one's true brilliance one initially has to risk looking like a fool: genius is like a wheel that spins so fast, it at first glance appears to be sitting still

17.01.2022 So close to finishing the web ..... and I run out of rod. A few more inches would be nice ....

14.01.2022 1 of 2 stainless steel tanks for a grey water system to be fitted on a floating demountable building. Which I am also building the pontoons for, at 17.4m longs there sure is a lot of welding to be done .

13.01.2022 Just a progress snapshot for the viewers at home.

12.01.2022 It’s been a while since I’ve made a horseshoe man.

12.01.2022 Don’t worry about him ....

10.01.2022 We had our first visitor on my bird feeder this evening, as pesky as the cockatoos are you can’t help but love them and their cheeky ways.

08.01.2022 I haven’t posted in a while but here’s what I’ve been up to ... building pontoons, repairs and maintenance on marina sections , heavy duty access ramp and a repair and refurbish job on a barge Glow Worm and heaps of smaller jobs in between. The next few weeks are going to be flat stick .

08.01.2022 Dolly pot rock crushers and High Banker/ river sluice gold recovery units are coming soon.

07.01.2022 When the boat trailer breaks .... Bush mechanics eat your heart out .... wonder how long it took to find that perfect stick ?

06.01.2022 Here’s a few photos of the trusses i built . Most of the frame work has been erected.

06.01.2022 Here’s the start of an odd bod garden seat I’m making from 20 mm solid bar . I’ll come up with a design and start bending some 12 mm rod ... perhaps make a tree and a couple of hills to fill in the back rest then find some nice timber for the seat.

05.01.2022 Good score on the steel wheels and camp ovens !!

02.01.2022 Causes of arachnophobia These intense fears often stem from negative past experiences. So, in the case of arachnophobia, it's possible to have a debilitating fear of spiders due to a negative encounter with these arthropods. Most specific phobias like arachnophobia occur before the age of 10.

01.01.2022 A customer asked me how much it cost to make a table.... I answered him: $ 1500 He said: So expensive for this job? I asked: How much do you think it would cost... you? He answers me: $ 800 maximum... That's a pretty simple job right? !" - For $ 800 I invite you to do it yourself. - But.... I don't know how to. - For $800 I'll teach you how to. So besides saving you $700, you'll get the knowledge for the next time you want - It seemed right to him and he agreed. - But to get started: you need tools: A table saw, a planer, a top, dormants, etc... - But I don't have all these equipment and I can't buy all of these for one job. - Well then for another $250 more I'll rent my stuff to you so you can do it. - Okay, he says. - Okay! Tuesday I'm waiting for you to start doing this work - But I can't on Tuesday I only have time today. - I'm sorry, but I'm only available Tuesday to teach you and lend you my stuff. Other days are busy with other customers. - Okay! That means I'm going to have to sacrifice my Tuesday, give up my tasks. - I forgot. To do your job yourself, you also have to pay for the nonproductive factors. - That is? What is this?" - Bureaucratic, tax, vat, security, insurance, fuel etc. - Oh no!... But to accomplish these tasks, I'm going to spend more money and waste a lot of time! - Do you have them? You can do it to me before?" - Okay! - I'll make you all the material you need. Truck loading is done Monday evening or Tuesday morning you'll have to come by 6 loading the truck. Don't forget to be on time to avoid traffic jams and be on time - At 6??? Nope! Too early for me! I used to getting up later. ... - You know, I've been thinking. Y ' all better get the job done. I'd rather pay you the $1500. If I had to, it wouldn't be perfect and it would cost me a lot more. When you pay for a job, especially handcrafted, you pay not only for the material used, but also: - Knowledge - Experience - Study - Tools - Services - Time to go - punctuality - Accountability - Professionalism - Accuracy - Guaranteed - Patents - Sacrifices - Safety and security - Payment of tax obligations No one can denigrate other people's work by judging prices. Only by knowing all the elements necessary for the production of a certain work can you estimate the actual cost. I did not write this dialogue, but am sharing it to support craftsmen and entrepreneurs.
