Willow J a pioneer to the Australian Burlesque revival scene, Willow J is a mover, shaker and innovator known for her character driven and provocative acts. She entered the wild world of burlesque in 2002 as a member of the notorious, award winning neo-burlesque troupe Voodoo Trash Dolls and continues with passion and commitment to explore the art of eroticism through bawdy, comical, classical and sometimes dark and twisted tales.... . As a story teller with a background in acting, and having trained in many different dance and movement forms including tango, bouffon, clowning, butoh and martial arts, Willow J combines these skills to create highly physicalised, unique, and larger-than-life characters driven by strong narrative. . Willow J has performed in 100’s of productions including Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekender 2013 & 2018 (BHoF), The London Burlesque Festival, Green Room Award Winning production, DasSHOKU SHAKE!, The Aussie Flim Flam Japanese Burlesque Revue and The Australian Burlesque Festival to name a few. . With a love of wild, strong, fearless and provocative women in history Willow J created and directed two successful sell-out seasons of The Living Museum of Erotic Women (2014, 2015). . Growing up with an interest in all dance forms, his repertoire now covers classic and contemporary dance disciplines supported by training in the circus arts. With a keen interest in the history of burlesque and how it informs new and established performers of the art of tease, he’s also toured the USA, Europe and Australasia gaining exposure to international audiences and the diverse range of inspiring fellow performers to be found all over the world.
