19.01.2022 Flowed Thought for the Day: Simply do as the day asks ..... Often we are busy thinking ahead, or what happened before today - what really matters is today. I know, easier said than done - but if we just do as the day asks, life seems simpler and somehow more effective - perhaps because we are more able to naturally tune into what is best for here and now ... Engagement is refined and our awareness of self and all that surrounds us becomes heightened without a sense of duty..., because we are simply doing as the day asks without pressure - nothing else needs doing - just today.... Of course we are human - thoughts of planning ahead and memories of past will always be an innate part of our being, but if we remember to practice just doing as the day asks whenever things are becoming a struggle, or to bring back balance and sparks of loving life ... what a wonderful self therapy to access. Horses are naturally wonderful teachers of this - I often become enthusiastically lost in the day with them - and emerge from the paddock and forest at Serendipity feeling true to life again ... 18.01.2022 Flowed Thought for the Day: "Love and Nurture, without attachment" I find this insight so welcoming as it seems to bring me to a wholeness understanding that we belong graciously, without the need to long for...... We, our friends, our partners, the animals in our lives, our place we currently call home, our workplaces, the veggies and beautiful flowers growing on our land are all beings of their own... Loving and nurturing, without attatchment for these, opens clarity of the flowing wholeness they provide us with - not in ownership, but in the synergy of flowed now ... If we humanly attatch ourselves, the flow of synergy is easlily smothered and longing can fearfully take over.. Horses naturally synergise with all that is around and available to them - their freinds, humans, food, water, shelter, stimulation, climate - they adapt and carry on eagerly for life in that synergised moment... I know - where there has been unnatural disturbance, such as a mare and foal being prematurely and / or suddenly seperated - there are obvious behaviours of attatchment which has reacted the fearful longing.... the clarity of wholeness has been disturbed. I suppose what Im having a go at saying, is that we and all that is around us has its own sense of being and if we take an attatched ownership of it or them, the love and nurturing we have for it or them can be distorted by our own feared needs, as in the mare and foal example above... So, next time you go out to play and connect with your horse(s) really see them as their own beings, just as you are - feel this different and real unconditional love - because thats what it is - a love without attatchment conditions - and its so warming and welcoming!

14.01.2022 The resting place of the mind is the heart. The only thing the mind hears all day is clanging bells and noise and argument, and all it wants is quietude. The only place the mind will ever find peace is inside the silence of the heart. Thats where you need to go. - Elizabeth Gilbert

12.01.2022 Intuitive Insight for the day : Resilliance is in The Knowing And what is The Knowing? Its your intuition of course! ... This information came clearly while reflecting on various horse experiences. I was mostly enchanted by the remembrance of how grounded and strong they seem in the face of change and challenge if given the opportunity to be intuitively connected to what is happening. Their adaptation for survival kicks in very quickly .... and comes from a place of an awake knowing..... This to me, is a perfect perception of Resilliance. So, next time you engage with your horse(s), feel their intuitive connection to all that is happening in their world at that moment and feel strong, grounded, awake and ready .... Beautiful, Empowering Resilliance

05.01.2022 Rocky and Kisses were the chosen ones for play and learn in The Circle of Safey ... Rocky was a true gentleman - even though I was keen to learn if a little more pressure may push some acrobatic moments ( lately his free paddock nature is very athletic !) - but there was nothing but his willingness to please and enjoy some attention. Kisses taught me that her way of learning is simple if clear and not confused from her perception .. this helped me define what my communicatio...n was to her, as well as define exactly what I wanted in the first place. Her ability to think and respond with ask-pressure is minimal, where as Rocky is more able ... so adjusting to suit the horse is paramount. Both have not taken part in any of this circling play for a couple of years and minimal before that, I had realised (due to life stuff) - so wow! Im pleased to learn that they remember. Love to them and Lucy for the photography (a little blurry - but still visible) See more

03.01.2022 Last weeks emerging theme was: Comfort ... I really enjoyed exploring the different meanings and feelings of Comfort from the perspective of others and the...ir sharing... Some of these evoked discussion around: Self-Care, Comfort Zones, Personal growth, Endurance, Support, Self-need patterns & coping, Distraction & Softening, Protection & Safety... My greatest learning was one where 2 women in seperate sessions, shared their insight about Comfort and Persistent / Chronic Pain. I learnt for those who experience very few or no times of complete comfort, their self-talk and language is extremely helpful for providing less dis-comfort ... Thank you ladies I also enjoyed observing the horses natural ways of crafting Comfort in their lives and noticed that mostly their complete presence in the now, allows them to attune perfectly for their comfort needs, given they have choice and freedom to do so ... This weeks emerging theme is: Visualisation What does this mean for you? What do you Visualise wellness looking like in your life? How does Visualisation support you?
03.01.2022 Relaxed, cherished moments with the beauties after Prince and my therapy session Feeling rather blessed
03.01.2022 The Serendipity Clan enjoy checking out one of the Horse/Human Play & Learn Circles of Safety .... Another 2 are marked out - Rosie and Indi eat some pickings where one is to go, while Rocky seems to know we are going to enjoy his first session later today... Interesting how the girls go straight to short & sweet grass, rather than long and lush ... I always learn so much simply from observation - especially when given a range of choice in a new safe space... These Play & ...Learn Circles of Safety have been specifically designed to inspire creative learning and connection between horses and humans..... We can safely explore and discover through leadership/ fellowship, clear communication, observation / reflection, follow a feel/ energy, left brain / right brain, zen principals, agility and comfort zone games.... Of course, all these gentle, but powerful experiences flow into our every day living - this is the essence of Equine Supported Therapy to me... See more
03.01.2022 The last weeks have flown by - many special shared moments of learning, growth & healing with others ... I’m pausing for a moment, sighing out a long breath - ...feeling completely fulfilled, as I acknowledge and feel truly grateful to be purpose working within something I’m greatly passionate about ... Last week’s emerging theme was ‘Compassion’ ... And I love this week’s: ‘Broadening the Horizon’ What does Broadening the Horizon mean for you? How does it create Wellness in your life? For me - its all about ‘Growth’ I really love how horses seem to naturally broaden their horizon through being curious & engaged - attuning for the next opportunity.., Blessings & Wellness
03.01.2022 In a 2004 study it was found that group housed horses learned faster than singly housed horses and were less aggressive towards their handlers. In the study, 20... young horses were handled for 10minutes 3times a week from the age of 6months old to 2years old learning basic training skills including leading, tying up, touching and giving feet. The training was organised in 43 stages. The first winter, the group housed horses passed more training stages than the horses housed singly (17 stages versus 14) and the same thing happened the second winter (27 stages versus 18). (Sondergaard and Ladewig, 2004) The findings of the study demonstrate two of the benefits of avoiding keeping young horses isolated. Other benefits of keeping horses in groups include: less risks of aggression toward other horses (Christensen et al, 2002a), decreased occurrence of stereotypies. (Henderson, 2007; Cooper & Albentosa, 2005; Bachmann, 2002; Nicol, 1999; McGreevy et al., 1995b), less activity and increased foraging time (Houpt and Houpt, 1989). 01.01.2022 This week’s emerging theme is: ‘Brave’ What does Brave mean for you? How does Brave influence your wellness? ... Shared reflections / personal discoveries so far: Brave helps to push through comfort zones Brave looks and feels different for different people and animals Being Brave all the time is tiring, so having a rest from Brave feels good Bravery is my ‘growth edge’ Brave and Change to create a new Balance are interconnected Fear, Pain and Brave go together Brave is inspirational for others Brave is a very personal ‘thing’ and surfaces all sorts of feelings ... Sometimes it’s Brave to say no thank you, and move away from a situation It’s Brave to seek and ask for the right help My Brave Wisdom has taught me to be open to the new and at the same time, honour my inner strength or knowing to follow a path that feels right for me - even if others disapprove or cannot see ‘my’ right way ... So Brave to me offers, holds and models wellness in the form of Openness, Self-Listening and Strength ... I love how horses’ Brave Wisdom seems to manifest through their natural curiosity and engagement in the ‘here & now’ - much openness, inner listening and strength being cultivated here in Curious & Engaged ...
