23.01.2022 Marine debris found on the beach last week on South Arm. This beast took community members an enormous effort to remove from the beach!
22.01.2022 Debris collected by a sailor at Chuckle Point, Bruny Island, Tasmania - mid July,2020. There should be accountability for the origins of this debris.
22.01.2022 Algae back on White Beach on Peninsula: where is the nutrient loading coming from to cause this??? Sad to see this beautiful beach getting fouled up by Salmon farm mess.
19.01.2022 Guy Barnett represents the people of Franklin most affected by this industry yet he clearly isnt hearing our growing concerns. Write to him and let him know
18.01.2022 While citizen scientists, environmentalists, bushwalkers, and nature lovers were asked to stay at home, the government was allowing native forests all over the ...island to be destroyed behind locked gates. This forest was known as coupe TN062L, deep in in the iconic Styx Valley. The logging here was needlessly wasteful, as can be seen by the enormous piles of vegetation, including large tree ferns, left to dry out and decay in a now-dead forest. This destruction is approved by government authorities and is a classic example of how public forests and the environment is continually failed by an outdated system driven by politics, not science. The science could not be clearer. Native forests are essential. Logging them is not. Please share far and wide. 13.01.2022 "It’s our Tasmania, not Tassal’s to turn into a filthy, noisy fish factory" - Actor and Bruny Island resident Essie Davis. Locals are asking for Tassal to get out of the Channel, and return it to nature, community and recreational fishing. We support them 100%, what are your thoughts?
12.01.2022 The three proposed salmon farms in Storm Bay will be colossal. The poo and wee from the salmon releases a heap of nitrogen into the ocean, and high levels of ni...trogen have been linked to increased algae growth. This can affect water clarity, seagrass habitat and other marine life including fishes that are important for commercial and recreational fishing. Scientists are concerned about the scale of the salmon farms given the Green Light in Storm Bay, Tasmania. #savetassieswildcoasts #tasmania #stormbay #salmon #ocean #saveouroceans #marineconservation See more
