24.01.2022 Some still shots of the Tumut river with no flow today. Very rarely happens so was chuffed to be able to see it with my own eyes. Last couple of shots are of a group of 5 kookaburas that were taking advantage of the situation and were sitting in position to pick off any easy meals trying to get between holes or drifting by. #tumutriver #noflow #eyeopener

24.01.2022 Tagged Rainbow Trout Yearlings for Blowering Dam! One thousand yearling Rainbow Trout have been stocked into Blowering Dam as part of a long-term stocking strat...egy to combat predation from redfin and to provide information on survival and growth. The fish were produced at DPIs Gaden Trout Hatchery and range from 150mm to 230mm. Blowering is a fantastic native and trout fishery and finding the best size for stocking in the presence of redfin will help to maintain the dam as a great mixed fishery. Recreational fishers who land one of these trout will be rewarded with a Wigston Tassie Devil lure prize in return for their capture information. This information received will help determine survival and growth rates of Rainbow Trout and can be lodged on https://bit.ly/35DSvsa This release is part of our tag recapture program which includes tagged fish releases into Oberon Dam, Lake Lyell, Lake Wallace, Carcoar Dam and Khancoban Pondage. I have 7 different magpie friends on the Batlow golf course and although they all eat out of my hand Miss Fatso takes it to the next level by being super friendly following me around and cheering me on whilst trying to sink clutch putts haha. As you can see she will even greet me in my car upon arrival If you're ever at the Batlow golf course be sure to say hello to Miss Fatso, she lives around the 5th green, 6th tee and 9th fairway are...a. For those wondering what I feed my magpie friends it is a mix of premium mince and a bit of insectivor mixed in with it, they love it and it is a good healthy treat for them. 15.01.2022 Hopefully get the chance to play a bit more golf between fishing trips this year Due to wildlife commitments mostly and a bit of Covid crap I could only squeeze in 4 competitions last year including this one the club championships which I was lucky enough to take out for the 3rd year running. Scores were terrible but it was enough to take out the title. I've given myself some big goals to achieve this year both fishing and golfing related and barring any unforeseen issues/ dramas I'm looking forward to giving them all a shake. Maybe consider fostering, it's very easy, no long term commitments and you help get these little guys out of cages and kick start their new lives whilst they wait for the perfect owner to come and adopt them. It's unbelievably rewarding watching these little guys come out of their shells whilst in your care and like I said it's not much of a commitment but it makes a massive difference in these animals lives and personalities.
