25.01.2022 Due to current events, we have had to make some changes which means the novelty events will not run this year (except for the Mystery Weight). The novelty prizes have therefore been redistributed into the 3 major prize categories.

24.01.2022 Although we have another small change to the prize pool with the trip to San Fransisco or $5000 cash (over 300kg) being removed from the First prize option, I am please to say that MGA Insurance Group are still putting up the $500 cash for First prize. With the possibility of fewer entries this year, your chances of taking home a prize with the minimum value of $200 are better than ever. Additionally, participants entering pumpkins on the day will arrive at the Cadell Heritag...e Centre, on the corner of Dearden and McGuire Terraces, where one of our 2 or 3 volunteers will take details then unload and weigh your pumpkin. After that you can either wait until midday, ensuring social distancing is adhered too, or leave and wait for us to contact you with the results (soon after midday). We intend to take videos of the weighing of each pumpkin to ensure everything is above board. Unfortunately these changes have been necessary but thank you again for your understanding. Please feel free to contact us with any questions on 0407 515 245. See more

24.01.2022 There have been recent comments that the competition structure was flaunting the law. This is simply not true. We were well within the guidelines of restrictions, taking all necessary precautions. Regardless, due to the continually changing restrictions, the severely reduced number of competitors and the fact that we cannot give our sponsors value for money, the committee has decided to modify the competition once again. Although the regular competition has been cancelled, ...we will be continuing with a virtual competition, in which the entrants will be sending in photographs of themselves with their pumpkin or large vegetable and our committee will choose 3 winners who will receive a smaller monitory prize for their efforts of growing a pumpkin. The winners may not necessarily be the biggest or heaviest, but may be the most creative picture. RULES Entry is FREE The pumpkin or vegetable must have been grown this year (2020). Photograph must contain something that clearly identifies the date it was taken (ie. Front page of a newspaper that can be verified). The pumpkin should not have been entered in any other competition. Try to limit the photo size to 3Mb. Photo must be in its original state and not be altered in any way. File name to contain the entrant’s full name. Committee will have the right to post photos on its Facebook and Web page. Committee’s decision will be final. The committee reserves the right to disqualify any inappropriate entries or ones that do not conform to competition rules. Entries must be emailed to [email protected] between Friday 3rd April and Tuesday 7th April. Entrants to supply a contact number in their email. Winners will be announced on Easter Saturday 11th April. Winners will be notified by the email address or contact number provided at entry prior to announcement. If no response is received by Midday Friday 10th April, a new winner will be selected and the previous winner will forfeit all rights to the prize.

23.01.2022 'Virtual' 2020 Winners thanks to CCTA and MGA Insurance Group.

09.01.2022 Even after what is currently happening around the world and in Australia, we wish to reassure everyone that the Pumpkin Competition will go ahead. IF the Morgan Easter Bazaar does NOT go ahead, the competition will be held at the Cadell Heritage Centre. We will have to confirm much closer to the date, once we know if the Easter Bazaar is going ahead. Sorry for any inconvenience but we will keep you posted.

07.01.2022 Remember to send in your Giant Pumpkin photos for our virtual competition. We are looking forward to seeing your efforts. To verify your photo, use a current newspaper, a current business catalogue, or download a time stamp app for your mobile phone camera.Remember to send in your Giant Pumpkin photos for our virtual competition.
