18.01.2022 This morning at the MRNA courts the preparation started for the reseal. It has been a long time in the making and just seeing a little bit of the dirt disappear from one corner was enough to get us excited about what is to come. We cannot wait to have players and officials back playing in 2021. Thanks go to Gisborne & District Community Bank Branch - this is part of our previous community funding. Thankyou for supporting netball in the Macedon Ranges and helping us to c...reate a safe environment for our community. Thanks also to Tony and the boys from B&T Pool Painting & Court Surfacing. You have done a wonderful job so far and we cannot wait to see the finished courts. Bring on an awesome year for netball in 2021 in the Macedon Ranges

16.01.2022 2020 AGM reminder There are only a few days to go until we have our first ever online AGM. In 39 years of the association, this year is definitely one for the books. Each clubs need representatives to be in virtual attendance - and we are hoping to keep it short. If you want to make some history please contact Karen at [email protected] to RSVP. ... This will make it easier for Cushla to determine who is in attendance on the zoom call. (We can guarantee your name will be in the minutes as attending.) See you Monday night! Cheers Katie

15.01.2022 Finally we can announce that our blue courts are getting a well deserved reseal in Spring. Anyone that has visited the courts recently will notice that they are in need of a clean, very slippery and have lots of cracks and holes (even a little grass growing through the cracks). MRNA would like to thank Gisborne & District Communuty Bank Branch for their support as our major sponsor. Gisborne & District Community Bank Branch. The funding we received in 2018 and 2019 for t...his project. The courts will look fabulous and we cannot wait to have a safer surface for our players and umpires. We would also like to thank Tony and Brooke from BT pools and courts for the multiple meetings to help get this project off the ground. https://www.btpoolscourts.com.au/courts B&T Pool Painting & Court Surfacing We cannot wait for our courts to look this good !

13.01.2022 We are excited to announce that Gisborne & District Community Bank Branch will continue to be our major sponsor with a grant of $51,600. This funding will allow us to improve player and umpire safety. With this sponsorship we can install 8 shelters to the external courts, repair and remark the asphalt courts and paint a thouroughfare between the courts. Thankyou to Gary, Corrine and the Bendigo Bank Board for the continued support of grassroots netball, and for recognising... the value of our facilities and the association in the community. Chairman Gary McSwain said the major investment to upgrade the netball complex will benefit thousands of players and families across the district for years to come and the Community Bank Gisborne & District team hopes the new shelters and lines make the return of netball competition in 2021 even more exciting and safe for everyone in the local netball community. Thanks also for the supply of the hand sanitising station.

12.01.2022 GFNC Netball Trials are on soon!

12.01.2022 Happy Mother's Day to all our wonderful Netball Mum's. Thank you for all your kindness, support and unwavering commitment.

10.01.2022 Any boys interested in doing a free Vixens skill session?

08.01.2022 One more sleep until we are back with our first round of 2021. We cannot wait to hear our courts noisy again on a Saturday morning ... it’s been too long. We have missed the cartwheels, here if you need and the general social aspect of our fabulous game. We have 61 teams playing in our junior competition for 2021 - so welcome back to all past players and welcome to all our newbies. We are looking forward to seeing you all develop across the season. ... Please remember we are all a bit rusty from having no netball. Be respectful to players, coaches umpires and officials. If you have a concern please use the correct channels to get issues resolved. As per grading rounds, teams must enter from the car park at behind the sheds (courts 4 &5) and enter when advised). Only players, coaches, team managers and scorers can enter the courts. Teams need to sanitise at the end of their match and exit the court ASAP. This will ensure the teams for the next match will start in time. Spectators need to remain behind the fence, wear a mask if you can’t social distance, check in with the QR code below. Hand sanitisers will be located around the courts. Some important reminders: 1. MRNA have Covid Safe procedures in place and all spectators are required to remain outside of courts, behind the fence. Hopefully this will not be for too much longer. 2. There is no access to the pavilion except for use of toilets - enter next to the canteen window and exit through the front entrance (automatic glass doors). 3. Please review the appropriate Code of Conduct from the netball Victoria website - links below. Junior Player Code of Conduct - https://vic.netball.com.au//Code%20of%20Conduct%20-%20Juni Guardian Code of Conduct - https://vic.netball.com.au//Code%20of%20Conduct%20-%20Guar Spectator Code of Conduct - https://vic.netball.com.au//Code%20of%20Conduct%20-%20Spec Finally here is to a fantastic year of netball to celebrate our 40 years of netball in the Macedon ranges. Thankyou MRNA Exec

07.01.2022 25/06/2020 Dear Netball Community RE: Cancellation of our 2020 Winter Competition.... With great sadness we wish to announce the cancellation of our Macedon Ranges Netball Association Winter Competition for 2020. After much consideration, the MRNA Executive committee and club presidents have unanimously agreed to cancel our 2020 season. There were multiple factors that influenced this decision. These include: Recent spike in covid19 cases on our doorstep the well being of our extended netball community the added burden of the Netball Victoria Return to netball guidelines and the associated measures that would need to be stringently implemented. and the uncertainty of accessing the Netball Pavilion at the Macedon Ranges Netball Complex. On a happier note we are looking at running a twilight competition later in the year, and we aim to have our Ladies Midweek competition back in the second part of the year. Both are pending further advice from the State Government, Macedon Ranges Shire Council and Netball Victoria. A discussion has been held regarding refunds of MRNA and Club fees for the winter competition, refunds will be through your club. Please stay tuned as we finalise these. The Annual General Committee Meeting is scheduled for Monday 3rd August. Further information will be provided closer to the date. Finally, thank you for your patience whilst we worked through options and scenarios and tried our best to get a season up and running. A big thankyou to the MRNA Executive committee and the clubs for all the hard work in the background. A huge thankyou to Bendigo Bank for their ongoing support. We look forward to seeing you back for Twilight and 2021. Kind Regards, Katie Duoba President Macedon Ranges Netball Association

04.01.2022 Round 1 - We understand that a lot of people will still be away on holidays and are likely to miss the first round of netball. If any teams find themselves unable to field a team and need to forfeit please let us know ASAP. Any forfeits will need to go through your club and be directed to our admin Ash. This will assist with our umpire roster for this weekend as we also have a lot of umpires unavailable!

04.01.2022 Coaching course update. Can the following people please contact me directly to provide me with your date of birth and best email address. Kind regards ... Katie duoba 0419805141 See more

02.01.2022 April 24 Round 2

02.01.2022 Round 2 Reminders: Score sheets: - All score sheets must have the positions filled in for each quarter. If a player is off just mark it with a dash. - Under 9s don’t keep score as these age groups do not play finals. Centre passes and positions still do need to be recorded on the score sheets. ... - Scorers at the end of the match check the score sheet is completely filled in and sign off. Rotations: - Under 9's and U11's need to rotate the players through all positions on the court throughout the season. Players can only play half a game in one position. If you need a fill in player - Please indicate this on the score sheet (or send an email to [email protected] with this information). We need to keep records of who qualifies (or playing too many matches up and qualifying to play in a different grade & team).

02.01.2022 In light of the MRNA Winter Competition not going ahead this year we would like to wrap up our brick fundraiser for the year. We hope that we will revisit this fundraiser when our competition returns in 2021. However if you would like to place a last minute order please contact Tracey Calnan on 0409 757 338. Please order by COB 21st September.
