24.01.2022 Today is Remembrance Day. At the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we acknowledge and pay tribute to the service of thousands of Australian service personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice. While this year’s commemorations will be different due to COVID-19, I’d encourage you to stop at 11am today to remember those who defended the values we Australians hold so dear.... We will remember them.
23.01.2022 Wishing Greenway’s Lebanese community a very happy Lebanese Independence Day.
20.01.2022 Thank you to the nurses and midwives at Blacktown Hospital for the update on the campaign to improve staff conditions - and in turn, patient care - at our local hospital. Like so many locals, I’m shocked by the recent developments and have called on the Minister to provide urgent advice as to the steps the NSW Government is taking to address these issues. Our hardworking hospital staff do a tremendous job with the finite resources available to them. However, we must do more t...o ensure they receive the support they need. I’ll keep pursuing this matter to ensure Blacktown Hospital can deliver the accessible and reliable health services local residents deserve. NSW Nurses and Midwives' Association
18.01.2022 NSW Health is calling on people in the Rouse Hill area to get tested if they have even the mildest COVID-19 symptoms after the state’s sewage surveillance progr...am detected traces of the virus in the area. The catchment takes sewage from approximately 120,000 people. Fragments of the virus that causes COVID-19 have been detected in samples taken on Thursday 5 November from the sewerage system that drains parts of Quakers Hill, Castle Hill, Annangrove, Kellyville, Box Hill, Kenthurst, Glenhaven, The Ponds, Rouse Hill, North Kellyville, Kellyville Ridge, Beaumont Hills, Stanhope Gardens, Baulkham Hills, Glenwood, Bella Vista, Parklea, Acacia Gardens and Norwest. The positive sewage result can be due to shedding of the virus by someone who may have previously had the illness, with the virus ‘shedding’ through their system for up to six to eight weeks later. NSW Health continues to remind the community to be vigilant for symptoms and come forward for testing. Symptoms like a runny nose or scratchy throat, cough, tiredness, fever or loss of taste or smell can all signal COVID-19. After COVID-19 testing, you must remain isolated until a negative result is received. Find your nearest COVID-19 testing clinic here: https://www.nsw.gov.au//how-to-protect-yourself-an/clinics There are more than 300 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW. Sewage testing for molecular markers of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, started in July, adding another tool in the fight against the global pandemic. There is no evidence COVID-19 is transmitted via wastewater systems.
18.01.2022 Like so many locals, I’ve been shocked by recent revelations about Blacktown Hospital. As the only public hospital in the Greater Blacktown area, local residents need to have confidence they can access quality and reliable health services at Blacktown Hospital when needed. Central to this confidence is the knowledge that the concerns of hospital staff are listened to and acted upon. I’ve made urgent representations to the NSW Minister for Health and will continue to advocate ...for better local health services in our community. The residents of North-West Sydney deserve nothing less.
17.01.2022 Twice promised, never delivered - still not a cent for the Rouse Hill Hospital in the NSW Budget. This year has confirmed what we already knew: local, accessible and affordable public health services are essential for growing communities. It's a point that seems to be lost on the NSW Government.... It makes no sense not to fund the construction of the Rouse Hill Hospital this year.
15.01.2022 Always was, always will be. It was an honour to participate in a smoking ceremony at Parliament House alongside my Labor colleagues this morning as part of NAIDOC Week 2020.
15.01.2022 Happy Diwali 2020! Wishing our Sikh, Hindu and Jain communities all the wonderful blessings of Diwali.
12.01.2022 Very thankful for our pathologists this International Pathology Day. Thank you for all that you do - pathologists are among the unsung heroes of our healthcare system and have been invaluable throughout this very difficult year. HSU NSW
12.01.2022 Like so many in our community, I was shocked by recent revelations about the treatment of staff at Blacktown Hospital. The maladministration at Blacktown Hospital has gone on long enough. While I welcome the commitment to hiring six to ten additional staff, I will continue to monitor this issue closely and call on the NSW Government to take decisive action to support the doctors, nurses and allied health professionals on whom we rely.... 10.01.2022 A virtual Remembrance Day in Parliament House this year. Lest we forget.

08.01.2022 My Blacktown electorate office suffered water damage over the weekend, mostly affecting my reception area. To ensure the safety of constituents and my staff while the damage can be assessed, the front door of my office will remain closed today. However, please be assured my office is open, and my team and I are available to assist you over the phone or via email.... If I can be of assistance with any Federal matters, please call 9671 4780 or email [email protected].
04.01.2022 So many of us take breakfast for granted, but the awesome staff at Vineyard Public School are going above and beyond with their Breakfast Club each morning to ensure local students are learning on a full stomach. The Breakfast Club is very generously supported by local residents and community organisations, including Foodbank NSW & ACT and Riverstone RSL. Donations are always welcome, including non-perishable napkins, paper towels and aluminium foil.... On behalf of our community, I was very pleased to make a donation of reusable bowls, plates and cutlery this morning. Congratulations to the fantastic team at Vineyard Public School for this wonderful initiative, and if you'd like to help out, I'm sure the school would love to hear from you: [email protected]
