14.01.2022 TERM 2 LATEST UPDATE Dear parents and caregivers, I hope this message finds you well.... I have no doubt you are aware of the Premier and Education Minister's media briefing earlier this week regarding learning in NSW Public Schools in Term 2. The Premier announced the transition back to the classroom model for Term 2. NSW Public School students will gradually transition back to school, one day per week, beginning in Week 3 (Monday 11 May). The beginning of term 2 sees Monday 27 April remain as a pupil-free School Development Day. Tuesday 28 April has now also been announced as an additional pupil-free School Development Day to allow for additional planning and professional learning for teachers and staff. The Remote Learning model will re-commence from Wednesday 29 April similar to the end of last term. Families who are able to keep their children home to learn remotely are asked to please do so to assist us with social distancing. Those students who are unable to learn from home are welcome to attend school. On Monday 11 May, we will move into Phase One of the managed return to school for students. In this phase, all NSW students will attend school one day per week and learn remotely 4 days per week. It is anticipated that all NSW students will increase the number of days at school before the end of the term, under the advice of NSW Health. There will be additional cleaning during the day at school and social distancing measures in place. Next week, I will work with the executive team and staff to organise and structure Marsden Road Public School's Phase One managed return for our students. I will communicate the structure as early as possible to give families enough time to make arrangements. This term will certainly bring challenges but I am confident we can work through them together as a community. The website https://education.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/advice-for-families has been updated and may have information that interests you. If you have any further queries or concerns, please contact me on 96025579. Regards Manisha Gazula Principal 27/02/2020

09.01.2022 #MRPSnews Dear parents and carers, Below are the measures in place at our school to ensure everyone is as safe as possible during the global pandemic. Please read carefully as some measures are new as of Wednesday 19th August 2020.... All students should be at school unless they are currently unwell or have a medical certificate stating they are unable to return due to a medical condition (this should also state the expected timeframe of how long the child will be at home). Anyone, child or adult, who is displaying flu-like symptoms, should not enter the school for any reason. If your child does have flu-like symptoms, they MUST get a Covid-19 test. The negative result must be sighted by a member of staff before returning to school. Students must remain in isolation between taking the test and receiving their results. Students do not need to socially distance, but will remain in their class, year or grade groupings for all school activities. Students do not need to remain in these groupings whilst in the playground. Parents/carers and other non-essential visitors will not be allowed onto the school grounds throughout the day. The maximum adult capacity of our school office is 5. Please only come to the office for essential reasons. If you do need to come into the office, please follow the social distancing directions. You may be required to wait outside the gate if the office is already at capacity. Please be patient if the office is at capacity All adult visitors will need to complete an External Visitors to Site form upon entry. Manisha Gazula Principal

09.01.2022 Information about Phase One- Return to School from Monday 11th May Dear parents & carers Following advice from the Department of Education, we are in the process of planning the phased return of students to school from Monday, the 11th of May. Please see the timetable below for your child to attend school. Students in years 1 to 6 will attend school once a week and kindergarten students will attend school, twice a week.... Students will gradually attend school for more than one day, after ensuring that it is safe and feasible to do so. The school continues to get advice from the Department of Education on this matter. The school will continue to remain open for students who need to attend if their parent/carer is working and unable to support home learning. Home learning I encourage students to attend school on the days allocated to their respective grade unless they are sick. Students are also expected to continue to learn online on days they do not attend school. Drop off/Pick up To ensure social distancing and safe practices, we ask that parents/carers do not enter the school grounds when they drop off their children. Students should be dropped off at the school gates. 09.01.2022 Dear parents and caregivers, I hope this message finds you well. This is to inform the community that the staff of Marsden Road PS is looking forward to seeing our students for full time, on site teaching and learning as of Monday, 25th of May 2020. I would like to reiterate the following points:... The best outcome for students is that they are back at school. Schools continue to be safe and operations are in line with AHPPC guidelines. All students are expected back at school unless they are unwell or have a medical certificate to support their absence. All students are expected to attend school unless they are unwell. If parents believe that their child has a condition which means it is not safe for them to return to school, they will need to obtain a medical certificate. These are likely to be children with suppressed immune systems or undergoing treatment like chemotherapy. This means students are either: at school at home because they are currently unwell at home because they have a medical certificate which states that they are unable to return to school due to an ongoing medical condition. Please note the following changes that we will be implementing to maintain regular teaching and learning within a safe environment. Parents are not to enter school grounds in the mornings. All students need to be dropped off at the school gates. We shall be opening the bottom gate to allow more access points for students. Parents will be allowed to enter the school grounds in the afternoon from 2.40 pm. 3-6 students will finish at 2.45pm and K-2 will finish at 2.55 pm. We expect all 3-6 students to have left the school grounds by 2.55 pm unless they are waiting for a younger sibling in K-2. Please send a drink bottle for your child. Students are able to refill their drink bottles, but we are discouraging them from using the bubblers. Please ask your child not share his/her food with other students. Please ensure that your child comes to school dressed in warm school uniform. If you need support with this, please see the school office. The schools new canteen is now operational with full menu. For your convenience, orders can now be placed online using www.flexischools.com.au Meanwhile, if you would like to order using cash, please ensure that the correct amount is placed in a bag with the order. I wish you all a lovely weekend. I look forward to seeing our students next week. If you have any further queries or concerns, please contact the school on 9602 5579. Regards Manisha Gazula - Principal 22/05/2020
