25.01.2022 Posting a week late. Was battling in my mind about not being happy with the time I completed the UTA 100km in. Knee started paining and then seems I got slight tendonitis on the top of my foot. I am now grateful that I was able to not only rock up to the start line but also finish the race in 23hrs and 14 min. This experience is one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. Not sleeping for more than 30hrs and having my family there at the start and finish line made it even better. This experience has made me fall even more in running with. 17.01.2022 With UTA 100 coming up in less than 3 weeks the enormity of the distance is starting to actually dawn upon me. But then I look to why I am doing this 100km run through the blue mountains. I’m doing it so this little munchkin of mine can have a role model to look up to. A role model who looks to always push boundaries to live an enriching life not bound by materialism, but by the ground beneath his feet. A role model who instils in him that the currency of life is not $ but e...xperiences in life. Instilling in him that looking back at a life with satisfaction is a life lived twice. 16.01.2022 Yoga post alert! Yoga I believe is important for runners to be able to help in recovery and strength overall. The Boat pose helps in strengthening the hip flexors and provides core strength to your abs. This helps in increasing your balance and centre of gravity while running. Avoid your injuries by incorporating this strengthening pose into your routine. 09.01.2022 Trail running part of the UTA100 & 50 course in preparation for the main event. Managed to stuff up my nutrition and had a bad start but I learned from it. I am better prepared for the main event than I was before this. Running trails is so different from running on the road. It is like a mini adventure, setting you free from the constraints of the built up world and throws you into nature to tackle it head on. If you are ever around the blue mountains I suggest getting a pair of shoes on and doing even a small trail run in this beautiful place.
