21.01.2022 I am considering giving lessons again, so if you have a sewing machine or an overlocker and you don't know how to use them successfully, or you have a special project, dress or outfit that you need more specific skills that you don't have to complete. Then I am the person to see. To begin with ,the lessons will be $50 for a 2 hour session at my sewing room in Lion Street. You can bring your own machines or use mine, it is negotiable. The lessons will be one on one, and the co...ntent of the lesson will be initiated by the person attending. I am happy to discuss mother and daughter sessions and group sessions on an individual basis. I am a qualified TAFE trainer and I also ran the sewing workshop at Albany Regional Prison, where my training was accredited by a TAFE instructor sent in to test my students. I have over 35 years experience as a dressmaker and a certificate in Commercial Dressmaking along with a certificate in Fashion Design, from the completion of my studies in 1998. 18.01.2022 Today I start the toile for Jessicas wedding dress, to say I am excited is an understatement,I wish I had posted when I started my others, and then you could all share in my joy. Ive been away , and Ive had a fabulous time , but I love my sewing room, its my happy place

18.01.2022 Fabric is tangible, it encompasses decades of memories, to say I love fabric is an understatement. This week in particular 2 new clients have brought fabric from their past, each with its own unique story and of course a lifetime of memories. I am re-making it into something for each of them , to prolong the life of this wonderful medium / keeper of memories ,to be cherished and worn again with love, creating new memories

17.01.2022 I am closing for Christmas from December 18th until January 8th. Thank you to everyone who has been to my sewing room this year, I look forward to getting into school ball season and a continuation of 2017/2018 wedding season after the break. I will be taking a few months off next year from May 30th until mid September 2018. But I will keep you all posted. 15.01.2022 Hello happy sewers, I have given my first lesson yesterday to a beautiful lady called Lauren, we cranked up the overlocker and got that little niggly little job that needed just a neckline , armholes and hem to be all done and dusted, one lucky little grand daughter when Lauren gets home,and we managed to hop onto the sewing machine for a little bit of encouragement with buttonholes, Lauren is a competent sewer, and has a fantastic stash of fabrics just begging to be sewn, but she just needed a bit of a push to get back into the swing of it. This is one of many calls I have had this ball season, it is wonderful, and I feel so happy. I love school ball season, thank you too to all the lovely young ladies, young men and mums and dads that came to my little workshop, and trusting me with your outfits

10.01.2022 How creative, my budding little fashion designer, 6 year old Kya Beach, much loved grand daughter, not allowed on the sewing machine until she is 7, but she created this lovely bra, with items from my scrap bin and push pins, without any guidance, she just sat quietly for an hour and created her masterpiece. As I have always done , my services are by appointment only, and especially so during this present pandemic . 06.01.2022 Today , I had a call from someone, wanting a quote to make wedding dress. Whats wrong with that you might ask, well, I really like to meet the person, who wants the dress making, it is no small undertaking and I am passionate about what I do. Even if we dont proceed onto a working relationship, making a bespoke garment for someone is something I put a lot of myself into, and until I meet that person and we engage with each other it is too hard to put a monetary value to what I am going to create. So I am just letting you all know , that from now there will be no more telephone quoting. Its hard to explain how I am feeling right now, maybe it was just a vibe I got from the person that telephoned me, but I dont like what I am feeling. So I thought I would put it out there.

04.01.2022 I am now very technologically up to date, I have a square reader, which means I can take payment by bank cards . BUT, the down side is this, if it is a debit card it will cost 1.1%more to cost of your job and if it is a credit card it will add 2.2% o to the cost of the job . I suppose thats the price you have to pay for technology
