25.01.2022 Saturday’s are our crazy fabulous trail days, we run, we go a bit nuts and have lots of giggles it’s all part of the adventure and we love love love it Tod...ay we found another amazing trail to add to our adventure and it didn’t disappoint, it was technical & steep but amazing. We even had a guest appearance from some bad ass Mountain Bikers @seanc4567 you guys were fierce Some Crazy Disco Dancing of course, not a Unicorn Trail Adventure without a dance. 24.01.2022 This was the year I started school 1977 and an old dear friend of mine posted this tonight and I loved it so much, it brought back so many good memories I just ...had to share it....this was our childhood enjoy Growing up I walked to primary school regardless of the weather and dinner time was at 6.00pm and bed was 8.30pm. Eating out at a restaurant was a huge deal, that only really happened when it was a birthday or a very special occasion. Fast food was extremely rare nights and having a bottle of lemonade from the milk bar was a real treat. You took your school clothes off as soon as you got home and put on your ‘home’ clothes. There was no taking or picking you up in the car, you walked or rode your bike! You got home did your chores and your homework before dinner. Our house phone had a cord attached, so there was no such things as private conversations or mobile phones! We didn’t have foxtel, Stan or Netflix, we had only 4 channels to watch. We played hopscotch, Hide & Seek, netball, handball, Cricket and sunbaked on our driveways. Staying in the house was a PUNISHMENT and the only thing we knew about "bored" was --- "You better find something to do before I find it for you!" We played music via a record or tape player. We went to the Milk Bar for bread and milk and a Lolli was 1 cent. We ate what mum made for dinner or we ate nothing at all and if we didn’t eat our vegetables there was no ice cream. Bottled water is luxury, we drank from the tap. We watched cartoons on Saturday mornings, and rode our bikes for hours and ran around the neighbourhood. We weren't AFRAID OF ANYTHING. We played till dark... sunset was our alarm. If someone had a fight, that's what it was and we were friends again a week later, if not SOONER. We watched our MOUTHS around our elders because ALL of our aunts, uncles, grandpas, grandmas, AND our parents' best friends were all extensions of our PARENTS and you didn't want them telling your parents if you misbehaved! Or they would give you something to cry about. We respected the Police, Firemen, Ambulance workers, Doctors and Nurses. We never answered back..... ever !! Wooden spoons and feather dusters were the cane of choice and we got detention at school for not doing homework, being late to class or being naughty. These were the good days. Imagine if Kids today could live like we did without a care in the world, they will never know how it feels to be a real kid I loved my childhood and all the Friends I hung around with. 20.01.2022 Just like Court’s said in her post this is not a post about glory but I would like people who read this to know about this little Unicorn Babe. Over the past ...few months Courts and I have been clocking up over 100 COVID kms a week, we have been lucky to be able to do this and are very pumped and grateful after every run (maybe not when I crash) but hey comes with the territory So last week I just through it out there and planned a Hump Day 50k and of course Courts was on board. This Super Chicky is definitely a well oiled machine, her positive outlook on life has taught me a lot over these past few months and today she powered through and was an inspiration. 50kms is a long way but let me tell you with this little Unicorn time just zoomed by. I am forever grateful for our Girl Squad @noosarunbabes which little Gem is part of, during these crazy uncertain and strange times these girls have made my life full of giggles and craziness and I love them all too bits.
