05.01.2022 Meet Nola York, or Mrs Yorky as she is known to thousands of Coffs Coast and Clarence Valley children. This wonderful woman is responsible for one of the best C...hristmas displays on the Mid North Coast. Every year, Nola spends two months transforming the front of her Glenreagh home into Santa’s Workshop, delighting visitors in the lead-up to Christmas with a display that just keeps on giving. The more you look, the more you find among the thousands of pieces and 13 Christmas trees that make up this remarkable display. It’s Nola’s 21st year creating this masterpiece which raises funds for the Mid North Coast Cancer Institute, and before that the Coffs Hospital’s oncology unit. In that time, Nola has raised about $20,000 in support of cancer patients. Her very first Christmas display was in memory of her husband Ron, who along with Nola, owned York’s Bakery in the small village 37ks west of Coffs. Nola’s five children, 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren (with another due to arrive next month) have much to be proud of. Thank you Nola for showing us all the true meaning of Christmas. PS Happy 84th birthday Nola for Boxing Day! See more
