24.01.2022 Dear Club Coordinators and Captains, Due to the latest COVID-19 lockdown restrictions imposed on metro Melbourne which impacts some of our teams and players, we have decided to push back the start of the Spring Season to 13th August. This will still allow us to play a full season with the grand finals to be held on 10th December. In light of the current COVID-19 situation, teams are advised not to congregate and share supper after matches for this season. Captains are also ...required to ensure they keep a mobile contact number for all the players in their team each week. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact either Rose Montes or myself. Kind Regards, Phil Bush
24.01.2022 EXPRESSION OF INTEREST SATURDAY COMP To all clubs, Due to the lightening of restrictions coming a bit too late to run the standard 2019-2020 Summer Season, the MRTA Open Competition Committee is looking to run in a shortened form for the remainder of summer, to help us re-align with usual seasonal periods for winter. This means an 8 week mini-comp starting in Feb (pending covid restrictions not being heightened).... The teams will still remain a mix of 2 men and 2 women on the day, as per usual. Could we please get an idea of team entries by Monday, 11th January, to help with the planning of the competition? Any feedback on this idea is more than welcome. Daniel Thompson MRTA Open Comp M&P Committee.

22.01.2022 Hi everyone. Please note we have changed the start date to 23rd July. SPREAD THE WORD. We are also starting the season fresh so last seasons scores will be deleted.... You also need to get your teams in before the 30th June. Please only submit teams that are different from the previous season. If they are the same players don't submit them again. On another note, the guidelines stipulate at the moment that you can not have more than 20 players playing within the same gated courts at any given time. I will use Riddells Creek as an example. We have 6 courts in total, 2 x 3 courts are gated so in theory we can have 12 people playing in each gated area at any given time. We encourage the clubs to create a 1 entry and 1 exit point onto the courts where possible, both with sanitiser available, to avoid players crossing paths. It is also imperative that the players registration form that's supplied by TV MUST BE FILLED OUT preferably by 1 person of ALL PLAYERS AND PEOPLE PRESENT (although we do not encourage spectators). The link is at the bottom of this post FYI. Lastly... socializing after play. Many of you have expressed your concerns with a preference to play and leave. TV and the commitee also encourage this but we also appreciate that for some of you this is an important factor of the night. So we ask that you use discreation and common sense... *1.5 meters apart *Bring your own food and drinks for your OWN consumption *sanitize your hands at all times *remember the number of people is limited in regards to gatherings * repeat... common sense! Any questions please PM or comment on this post. Otherwise... welcome back to the courts Rosemarie Montes https://www.tennis.com.au//return-to-tennis-competitions-t

16.01.2022 Hi everyone. Its official. Thursday night is back. Please take note of the following important details and please note we took every possible consideration into making what we are presenting given the circumstances. Starts 8th October with a duration of 11 weeks. Grand final 17th December ... Its a mini competition to coincide with what would have happened and to keep in format for next years season. we are starting fresh. Previous results are deleted there will be no semi finals. Teams placed 1st and 2nd at the end of the mini season will play in the grand final unfortunately players/teams that reside in current lockdown areas can not participate. This is a sincerely regrettable decision. It became difficult to wait for "what might happen next" and work around providing a competition as a result. And of course... we are here to support you and your team. If there are any questions or issues please PM us. We understand these changes are not ideal but it's the best we could offer given the circumstances. Thanks for your support. Rose

14.01.2022 Hi everyone, Unfortunately due to the latest lockdown the Spring season will now start on 13 August. Draw will be posted soon. PLEASE STAY SAFE
13.01.2022 Hi everyone. This is the final version of the draw as we had to fine tune it again with some withdrawals. Good luck to everyone this Thursday. Please also ensure your club has their COVID PLAN in place. Might be a good idea to touch base with your opponent team manager prior to the game so they too are aware of what is required at your club. ... Enjoy the season See more
11.01.2022 Hi everyone. A kind reminder as we are getting closer to the commencement date of the competition. If you reside in a lockdown area and are playing for any team within the MRTA round 1 will be awarded a WASHOUT point structure to your team and your competitors, ie, if you cant replace that specific team member with an emergency player that lives in a non lockdown suburb.... Pls PM us if you require further clarification on this. Stay safe everyone and thank you for abiding to the rules and helping our shire safe. Rose Rose
07.01.2022 Hi Everyone. Just a few reminders in regards to competition night... # When not in play you are required to wear your mask. I will suggest that the home team captains ensure this is adhered to #please consider the suggestion of no socializing after play. #the distance rule still applies when not in play... #all clubs must register every person whether they are playing or not, by using either the QR code or if the format given by TV. This is imperative for tracing purposes should the need arise. See more
06.01.2022 Hi everyone Further change to the competition. There will be no grand final. Top team after the last round will be declared winners of the season. Below you will find the draw. ... The best of luck to you all. Rose
04.01.2022 Who would have predicted another washout scenario last night? In the spirit of the game we encourage you to try and reschedule your games to be played on perhaps another night? Or on the weekend? There are plenty of courts and court times available around our shire. Of course the points of your rescheduled game will not count but certainly the fun will. Give it a thought... we waited so long. Don't let the weather ruin your love for tennis
03.01.2022 Hi Everyone. We've unfortunately had a few more teams pull out of the competition last minute so below is the FINAL VERSION of the draw. Any questions pls PM us.... And many thanks to Phil for accommodating the changes. You've done an amazing job

01.01.2022 Hi Everyone, It is with much regret and careful consideration that we announce that the up and coming season is postponed indefinitely until further notice. We'd like to thank you for your support on this decision as your health and that of your community is a priority to us. ... Please stay safe
01.01.2022 Kind reminder that all home game clubs must enter their results even if the match was a washout. To enter a washout you need to click on the '0-0' button below your match. Be quick... penalties apply if it's not done in a timely manner so we strongly suggest the opposition also checks as well.
01.01.2022 Sorry for the late post. Last week marked the end of our mini season Firstly I would like to take the time to thank Phil Bush for organising this comp given the circumstances. Many curveballs were thrown our way this season but we got through it. Thanks Phil.... Congratulations to all of the 2020 winners. Section 1 Woodend Storm Section 2 Macedon Tigers Section 3 Woodend Aces Section 4 Riddells Creek Rose's Section 5 Woodend Thunder PLEASE start thinking about next seasons team entries. I am asking that you have your forms filled out and emailed by NO LATER THAN 15 JANUARY 2021 as it very time consuming when changes need to be made after the fact so please get them in on time. Im going to be tough by saying no exceptions! Within your entry form please feel free to give us your opinion on where you feel your team should be placed and we will try and accommodate your request. Dont forget we are happy to support you and your team. I'd like to hear of any suggestions you may have to improve the competition.
