04.01.2022 How to get the most out of your battery life! One thing that most people find as a cause of frustration for them is their phone battery life. The concept of an "all-day battery" seems to only be a new thing, with most of us struggling to get our battery to last. There are a few different ways to get the most out of your battery, though and get quite a bit more time out of it. Here are some easy ways to boost your battery.... 1. Close out your apps It's very easy to forget (or not even know in the first place!) that apps will run in the background. This is a huge battery killer and changing this be the difference that you need. Every phone will be a little bit different to find the apps but it usually next to your 'home' button. Have a play with your phone and eventually you'll find that the apps will show. It will then have an option to close them down. If you have trouble doing this, you can Google how to do it on your phone. If you are still stuck, reach out to us to book a tutorial! 2. Turn off haptic feedback Many people aren't familiar with this term, so if you aren't sure what this means, do not worry! Haptic feedback is the little vibrations you feel as you type. Those little vibrations can have an impact on your battery life and can be switched off. Once again, this will be different in every phone. You can try going into your phone settings and finding the search bar, typing "haptic feedback" and that should give you the option to turn it off. If that doesn't work and you can't find the instructions on Google, you can reach out to us. 3. Turn Bluetooth off when not in use Bluetooth is a major drain on your battery, as it is always looking for something to be connected to and doesn't have a stand-by mode. If you only use your Bluetooth when you're listening to your music in the car, get into the habit of turning off your Bluetooth when you're out of the car and you'll find a marked difference in your battery life. 4. Update your software Keeping your software updates current can make a difference in your battery life. If you have software updates set to be manually installed, make sure you're checking them fairly regularly. If you're not sure, this is another thing that we can help you with. 5. Be aware of the apps you're running What sort of apps you use will also make a dramatic difference on your battery. Watching videos and playing games is a quick way to drain your battery. Being aware of how you use your phone can help you get more out of it every day. For example, if you watch Netflix on the way to work but find your phone is dead before you get home, switch to scrolling on Facebook or listening to music to get more out of each day. Failing all of this, your battery may just be old and in need of replacing. We offer a battery assessment and optimisation service that may suit your needs. If this is of interest to you, you can reach out by clicking "Contact Us" above and selecting your preferred method.
