02.02.2022 Inflatable Dinghy found! Marine Rescue Tuggerah Lakes have recovered a small inflatable dinghy in the vicinity of Wallarah Bay. If you have lost your dinghy please call Bob Sutton on 0416 148 143 with clear description of the vessel.



30.01.2022 Are you, your friends or a community group looking for a suitable venue to hold regular gatherings or a one off event? Our Base at Peel Street Toukley is perfectly located on the Budgewoi waterfront and may be exactly what you are looking for. Our hall is available for hire during the week and is set up to seat 60 people but can accommodate 80-90 people (pending Covid-19 limitations at the time of booking). There are male and female toilets, kitchen, dance floor and audio / v...isual facilities with plenty of off-street parking. One-off hire is available subject to availability, but we are looking to establish an ongoing weekly hire relationship and will negotiate on rates for suitable hirers. 12.01.2022 Marine Rescue Tuggerah Lakes held its AGM on Monday 7th June 2021. This was a fantastic opportunity to review the excellent work of the unit over the last 12 months. Tony Younglove, Unit Commander, gave a glowing review to the members who have achieved so much despite the disruptions that the Covid-19 restrictions brought. The AGM is where we recognize those members who have personally excelled with several awards and unit citations presented. ... Tuggerah Lakes operate 4 watches over the course of a month with the following members awarded watch member of the year: Anthony Hollingworth (Black Watch), Tim Macdonald (Red Watch), Peter McCann (Blue Watch) and Colin Thom (Gold Watch). New Recruit of the year Marcus Murphy. Fund raiser of the year Bill Owen receiving the Steve Anderson Memorial Trophy. Maintenance Member of the year Scott Walkerden. Member of the year is Steve Corbett receiving the Alex Coleman Trophy 2020. Citations were given for Ben Hogan for his commitment operating on the unit executive as the administration officer, Gary Boylett for his commitment to managing the unit’s maintenance. Steve Corbet and Craig Roberts for their response and untiring work on the Northern Rivers during the NSW flood emergency trailering TL21 through flooded roads and assisting with many assists. The following members made Crew Anthony Hollingworth, Paul Norris, and Marcus Murphy. Steve Corbett was presented with his Coxswain epaulettes. Tony Younglove handed over the Unit Commanders epaulettes to Bob Sutton as the upcoming Unit Commander and Peter McCann as Deputy Unit Commander. Marine Rescue Tuggerah Lakes Members. First, we head to beautiful Lord Howe Island for the opening of our first offshore unit and the commissioning of our largest rescue vessel, Lord Howe Island 40. We then head to the NSW South Coast to meet a father and daughter team from Marine Rescue Sussex Inlet to learn more about how Personal Water Craft are helping our volunteers save lives on the water. ... It’s whale migration season so we also take the chance to chat to members of the National Parks and Wildlife Service’s whale disentanglement team about these amazing creatures and how boaters can keep them and ourselves safer around these giants of the sea.

Join volunteers from our Marine Rescue Port Jackson, Broken Bay, Middle Harbour and Terrey Hills units on Weekend Sunrise tomorrow, 3 October, as they show how you can keep safe on the water this boating season. We will be joining Weekend Sunrise weather presenter James Tobin to share lots of great information, have a bit of fun, and step on board some of the Marine Rescue vessels that help to look out for you on the water.... Tune in to Weekend Sunrise on Network 7 from 7am. We will be in the weather crosses on the half hour until 9:35am. See you on the tele!

02.01.2022 Thanks to the mild weather and generally good boating conditions, Marine Rescue volunteers were kept busy up and down the NSW coast over the weekend. A total of 39 rescues were performed, of which 9 were emergencies, with a total of 79 people rescued. A big thank you to our dedicated volunteers for this wonderful effort.... And remember that if you are planning on heading out this weekend, to carry all required safety gear, and to Log On and Log Off with Marine Rescue on VHF Channel 16 or via the free MarineRescue App

Sécurité Sécurité Sécurité Boaters please be aware that there is a special marker pole (yellow and white) submerged which poses a risk to vessels. Steer clear of the area immediately to the north-west of Hoppys channel entrance (see cursor on map). NSW Maritime have been made aware.

21.10.2021 HELP KEEP THE BOATING SEASON COVID SAFE As the weather warms up and more people are looking to get back out on the water, it’s important to make sure we’re doing everything we can to stay COVID safe. Restrictions on boating vary depending on the area in which you live. Ensure you are familiar with the latest COVID-19 rules in place for your area before heading to the water, including the relevant travel and gathering limits. ... In areas subject to stay-at-home rules including Greater Sydney and some regional areas recreational boating is allowed (as exercise and/or recreation) with the following restrictions: - One person per 4sqm rule applies to recreational vessels (however, does not apply if ALL persons are from the same household) - You must remain within your local government area (LGA), or if outside your LGA no further than 5km from your residence. - There are limited reasonable excuses for owners or occupiers of a vessel to leave home or their LGA while under stay at home rules for maintaining or servicing the vessel, and conditions apply. - Visit www.nsw.gov.au for more detail on the COVID-19 restrictions around boating. COVID safe behaviours are more important now than ever before. Get tested immediately if you have any symptoms, even if mild, and stay home until you have received a negative test result following NSW Health guidance. Remember, physical distancing, mask-wearing and gathering rules apply at all times including at the boat ramp and on boats.
