24.01.2022 The uniqueness, equality and dignity of each and every family member is given by God and cannot and must not be taken away by any person, culture, teaching, do...ctrine, power, theology or religion. Rev Dr Cliff Bird and Siera Bird, United Church in the Solomon Islands. _____________________________ We worked with women’s fellowship groups to create this series of posters based on statements made by Pacific theologians and the Pacific Conference of Churches. They have been used by churches during lockdowns, when women and families were at greater risk of isolation and violence. #16Days #IDEVAW

21.01.2022 This is the second in our series of short films and worship resources focusing on climate justice from around the world. Witness how frontline communities of th...e Pacific contribute the least to carbon emissions yet bear the brunt of the climate crisis. Learn about how the impacts of climate change has or is likely to induce forced relocation for two frontline communities in Fiji. Listen to the challenges of how the communities of Vunidogoloa and Narikoso are coping with forced relocation. Listen to the messages of hope from individuals that live on the frontiers of climate risk and vulnerability. With thanks to the people of the villages of Vunidogoloa and Narikoso, the Pacific Conference of Churches, and the Uto Ni Yalo Trust.

12.01.2022 3 out of 4 Australians above the age of 70 did not have daily contact with their family during the pandemic. Lockdown or not, thousands of older Australians are... still experiencing loneliness and/or isolation. Meals on Wheels check in with thousands of people daily and we would love to deliver kind and thoughtful messages with our meals in the coming months. https://www.helpstopthespread.org.au Our aim is to collect 20,000 messages, so please spread the word with your friends, family and colleagues. #helpstopthespread #loneliness #socialisolation #mownsw #morethanjustameal

11.01.2022 SO HAPPY to see case numbers steadily dropping in Victoria - great job VIC friends! Internationally, where clean water and soap is hard to find, our partners are still working incredibly hard to make sure people are safe. Read more at https://bit.ly/2QIFogI

11.01.2022 Ive learnt that its OK to ask for help. By reaching out and accepting help with my children, this has made a huge impact in our home life. Im now more open ...to asking and accepting help, said Melissa, who received support from Wesley Brighter Futures. Its not always easy reaching out and seeking support with your children. But during #WomensHealthWeek its important that you put your mental health first.

07.01.2022 WHERE IS HOPE? Its in the combined strength and generosity of Christians world wide. 7 million is a lot of people - so we start one at a time. This is Ada, who... lives in a displaced persons camp in South Sudan. Her home was looted and burnt in fighting between tribal groups desperate for access to land and livestock. Theyre trying to feed themselves in the midst of the worst drought and locust plague in their history. Ada fled here with hundreds of others, and shes hungry. Last week she met Rev John Yor and our partners from the Presbyterian Church of South Sudan, who are going family to family in the camp, giving out food and health packs as well as teaching about staying safe from COVID-19. Your gifts are a huge part of what makes this happen. From Ada and the hundreds like her in South Sudan, THANK YOU! See more

06.01.2022 COVID-19 has made us think more about the different forms the Church will take in the future. Our latest webinar explored the idea of "hybrid eccelsiology" - an... understanding of being the Church that is fluid, adapatable and flowing out into the community. Hear the takes of all our 3 speakers in the video attached. https://uniting.church/called-to-be-a-hybrid-church/

04.01.2022 ON THIS DAY exactly 140 years ago, our founder Reverend John Flynn OBE was born. Because of him, Frontier Services exists today and provides a 'mantle of safety...' that he envisioned for people living and working in the bush. We're so proud to carry on his legacy. Please share your John Flynn stories via the comments and celebrate his birthday with us! #FrontierServices #JohnFlynn #HappyBirthday See more
