21.01.2022 IS YOUR HOUSE AT RISK. We were called out today to sort out a problem with a hot water system that had caught fire. This section of wire was removed from the switchboard. You can see the red at the end. That is the PVC insulation and it should look like this all the way along. The black section is where the wire had been burning. The cause was a fuse which did not have the correct fuse wire installed. When the water heater failed the cable burnt through instead of the fuse blowing. The solution was to replace the old fuse with a circuit breaker for optimal protection. When was the last time you had your switchboard checked by a qualified expert?
