25.01.2022 Mr Monkey , Mr Donkey and Little Fox enjoying the joey pouches we crocheted for the wildlife injured in the fires. These take a LONG TIME to make, especially the bigger the pouches get! It’s just continuous rows of single crochets. Definitely something to do when you’re watching a movie or 10! 16.01.2022 At Mr. Zed Creations it’s been horrible to watch the devastation the bushfires have had on our country. Seeing lives lost, homes destroyed, hectares of land wiped out and the continued dedication of the exhausted firefighters is overwhelming and left me feeling helpless. As the fires continue to burn, we have already lost over 500 MILLION animals (yes, 500 million) with populations decimated and those who have survived are badly injured. There are several debates circulating... with blame games to the cause of these fires. Politics, arson, climate change. I am not going to go into detail, that is a conversation for another time but it’s obvious that the poor choices/conflict/selfishness/greed of the human race has failed our innocent, voiceless wildlife and their habitats. And so, this little one woman small business is calling for action from our crafty community. Put down your needles and hooks for profit and use your skills to donate and help our animal friends. Animal Rescue Craft Guild is in desperate need of crocheted, knitted and sewn joey pouches, bird nests and bat wraps for the continued care of those injured in the fires. They will need these for days, weeks, months to come while our wildlife are slowly nurses back to health. I am honoured to have the skills to support and donate to this worthy cause. Although crocheting is a slow process, I am working like crazy to make as many items as possible with the hope that even one of my pouches can give comfort and save a life in this crisis.
