19.01.2022 A friendly note to inform you our website is currently experiencing technical difficulties due to a rookie mistake (I am definitely not an IT person ha ha). I am going to be working with IT specialists and web-developer Nicole Gabriel of Blazin Creations, to get this back up and running in the next few days. Hope everyone is keeping safe during this time. Our office is still operational with 90% performing services online. Any queries, please forward them to myself at [email protected].

15.01.2022 We would love to hear your feedback on our videos and services. Please leave reviews on our Facebook page so we can enhance our services and connectability with the community. Happy Tuesday !!

04.01.2022 Who Appoints your Auditor? If the accountants appoint auditors for Trustees, are they independent? The easiest way of explaining the tightening up of this legal requirement of Trustees is to provide you with what many accountants have been arranging for their clients in the past which is now not allowed. 1. This does not apply to trustees who independently appoint their auditor... 2. Accountants have been appointing auditors on behalf of their clients. These auditors have been signing off on the accountant’s workmanship without completing the proper due diligence. ASIC has been deregistering many auditors who do not have supporting evidence of their audit systems 3. Auditors have been signing off on SMSF audits because they had a relationship with the accountant who provided them with continuity of work whether they audited the records correctly or not. 4. Auditors have been charging less than the normal cost of the audit if they completed the work properly and this has been the influencing factor to agreeing to the arrangement. 5. The Chinese wall: is a terminology used where an auditor is the same member of the accounting organisation that completed the work but under a different name or structure. They still charge a fee for doing nothing more than signing the audit report. This is not allowed Are we different? And if so, how? M S Auditing & Professional Services has been completing audits on behalf of SMSF and NFP clients for over 2 years and prior to this, Michele completed small; first year SMSFs and independent audits for a number of accountants, not just Parramatta Accountants. We are independent as per the definition and circumstances according to the attached documents. The saying, you get what you pay for is very much applicable in these circumstances. The cost of your audit should be around $770 - $1,100. If not, ask yourself are they independent and can they substantiate their audits? Audits take around 5 to 8 hours in most cases. (excluding contraventions)
