25.01.2022 Final 2.5 hrs to go in the Sport and Wellbeing Challenge!! To confirm at Midday that was MEDI6100 who pulled it back from last night and was leading by a whopping 2500 points. I can confirm whoever is now in the lead is holding on by less than 400 points, it's a real sprint finish so don't forget your yoga and mindfulness if your body can't take anymore pushups!... Goodluck all!!! Ps. Any queries about scoring any activities that don't fit nicely please let me know and we'll sort out a deal :)

25.01.2022 SUNDAY SPORT REPORT On Friday night, MSAND took on the Curtin Physios for the first time on their home turf. Hopefully the start of some new healthy competition. Women's: MSAND 3.2 20... Curtin 9.8 62 Without the fourth year veterans available, Paris Elphick lead the girls for what was another impressive game of footy. The physios got off to a hot start with 4 unanswered goals in the first term, but MSAND wrestled back momentum for a tightly contested game. Georgia Brand (1) found the goals yet again, as did live-wire Hope Kleinfelder (1) after Jo Bunney was robbed in the goal square. Katie Shaw (1) started as a tackling machine in the backline before moving forward to kick a goal of her own off the hard running of Britt Webster. Oyinda Orundami and Laura Gunning were crucial down back while Marie Johnston was explosive in her first game back from injury. Men's: MSAND 2.5 17 Curtin 7.5 47 The boys faced a tough opponent in the young physios and were lucky to throw a team together at all; only 11 blokes put their hand up to play by Friday morning. As coach Arran Goddard-Nash put it, a robust recruiting strategy featuring desperate phone calls to brothers, housemates, boyfriends, and long deceased relatives allowed MSAND to throw a full side on the park. Debutants Danny Hyunh and Hamish de la Hunty were serviceable all night, as was the enigma himself Jack Oszkar Kalotas. Awtel Power (1) and Phil Inn (1) both found the middle. The big men Josh Briotti and Mitch Graham were vital throughout as MSAND were run over by the physios. The scoreboard didn't tell the full story as the MSAND boys lacked a bit of polish in front of goals but battled well across the oval. ~ That wraps up a short but memorable season of footy for 2020. Big shoutout to the MSAND faithful who came out to support the teams each week. Stay tuned next week for all the action from the Trivarsity Netball Tournament @ UWA

21.01.2022 SUNDAY SPORT REPORT MSAND faced their cross-town rivals WAMSS on Friday night at McGillivray Oval in the most anticipated event of the year. Women's MSAND 2.5 17... WAMSS 2.7 19 In the most exciting and high quality game of girls footy we've ever seen, WAMSS kicked a major in the dying minute to get their noses in front. The girls were up & about in a huge team performance. Usual suspects Georgia Brand (1) and Sophie Kerrigan (1) both kicked crucial goals. Georgia was electric up forward and Sophie dominated the clearances. Tessa Evans controlled the hit-outs and found plenty of the ball. Briony Clark put on a clinic in the middle in a BOG performance. Leathers was a brick wall in defence and partners-in-crime Stewy and Clauds were prolific up forward and lead strongly on the night. Men's MSAND 2.6 18* WAMSS 3.5 23* ** Absolute guess. Rain destroyed the whiteboard On a wet & windy night, WAMSS got off to a dream start and managed to hold off MSAND's push in the second half. The rain came in sideways and the ball turned into a bar of soap, but that didn't stop the veteran Michael Hussey (1) and prize recruit Awtel Power (1) finding the big sticks. Darcy Norman found plenty of the pill and created many forward entries to earn the 3 votes. The ol pres Sammy Chez used his speed both ways all night and Will Pascoe threw his body on the line in every contest, earning the praise of ND stalwart Clive Walley and becoming the inaugural recipient of the Walley Brolly. Conner Blackmore was breaking bones in the backline while Sam Rundle was busy through the guts and up forward. ~ While we didn't get the results and WAMSS continues their winning streak, MSAND's culture was on display with a huge showing of support for both teams despite the torrential rain. Congrats to the fourth years on their final game for MSAND and good luck to both teams facing the newcomers Curtin Physio next Friday
