14.01.2022 Fitzroy Island...what a perfect place to do some water testing! Snorkelling and a visit to the Turtle Rehabilitation Centre made for a pretty perfect day

13.01.2022 We went off grid when we spent the night in the Daintree Rainforest, learning about the flora and fauna of this unique World Heritage site. Rainforest and reef meet in this spectacular natural environment. We were welcomed with a traditional smoking ceremony that wards off bad spirits at the Dreamtime walk at Mossman Gorge. Our Indigenous guide demonstrated traditional plant use, bush food sources and shared their special relationship with this unique tropical environment. What a fantastic day before we head home tomorrow.

13.01.2022 We were lucky to join one of the Kubirri Warra Brothers on their Indigenous beach, mudflat and mangrove walk, following the traditions of their ancestors. We explored three diverse ecosystems and their connection to each other. We learned how to hunt, stalk and observe wildlife and how to find plants used for food and medicine. Next stop the Daintree!

01.01.2022 A trip to Milne Reef on the Great Barrier Reef made for an amazing day! Fantastic visibility and lots of aquatic diversity, with some very important data collection for Eyes on the Reef. Our Bennies girls were complimented on their thoroughness and enthusiasm on the data collection task by our wonderful guides. We even found Nemo!
