16.01.2022 With one little song, came a book, turned into a great lesson. Our youngest friend brought in her brand new book to share with us! Dont be fooled, it has a few other sharks to sing about AND it tells us some facts about each shark! I was trying to give the children an idea of how big a whale shark is, but I didnt have enough paper, so we down sized. We looked into finding pictures of the real shark. We colour coded which ones that are endangered, threatened or doing jus...t fine. We also discovered, mako is a Maori word! We then jumped on you tube to watch these sharks swimming happily, some even with divers! -I had to mute most of them due to the scary music they add We discussed that although we cant go jump in the ocean to save this wonderful fish, we can say no to plastics, and make sure rubbish goes in the bin! But most of all sharks are important and have the right to live as much as any animal. Well, heres to living in the moment and taking our day where the children wanted to take it. #saveoursharks #scienceweek #marinelife #scienceweek2020 #familydaycareaustralia See more

13.01.2022 Fathers Day gifts! Thanks @itsalwaysautumnblog The children had a go at tracing around the tie, on the backside of the card of their choice. They then traced their names on the back. Thread ribbon of their choice around the outside,... All before filling between the sheet cover layers with m&ms! So much hand strength going on!! Yep, we all had to our favourite coloured m&m when we finished #fathersdaygifts See more

12.01.2022 Your kids love to paint but you hate the mess. Or you have a sensory sensitive child. OR you just love to see what kids can create! This was created by 3, 3 year olds and a 2 year old. They sat and painted for 15 minutes without calling my name, fighting, or any other normal behaviour for this age group. ... I enjoyed watching them so content. Then once the youngest started painting home self and the the others started to bicker I took it away quick fast because I wanted to keep the painting in the positive in which it created. I LOVE this piece See more

12.01.2022 I have to share this RIGhT THIS VERY SECOND! So excited Im doing a happy dance inside my body (just woke up, coffee still kicking in, lets keep it real people)

12.01.2022 So everything I do works out perfectly the first time. NOT! This was supposed to be the chickpea foam. It was a fail! So we added shaving cream to play with. The kids loved it either way but now I have a challenge on my hands! By the way, we extended this play by adding water for the children to wash the shells and animals. So yeah fun was had whether it was perfect or not! ... Love my job. See more

11.01.2022 They captured the thoughts I had as a child, perfectly. Ill never forget having the stand and read in front of the class. The letters moving around, my brain just freezing, feeling everyones eyes on me.

11.01.2022 I dont know if this is true, but worth a go?!

11.01.2022 What I love about Eric Carles The Very Hunger Caterpillar is the different shades of green or red or whatever is needed. So when we make green, I only make a little from blue and yellow. SO, when they need more the next patch will not match, on purpose. AND to make paint go further, just add water. It makes it easier to spread over large areas and it helps keep cost down.

11.01.2022 Get those little one's out from the tv and let them get creative! This is going to be an epic process piece for summer. It's going to not only look wonderful it's going to smell gorgeous too!!
