23.01.2022 Today the ACT Government announced further easing of COVID-19 restrictions in the ACT. Given the strong position in the Territory, the ACT will be further easin...g restrictions. From 12 noon Friday 19 June, there will no longer be a limit on household visitation, and up to 100 people will be allowed for indoor and outdoor gatherings or one person per 4 square metres whichever is lesser. The new measures are based on the advice of public health experts and aim to support our community, restore our economy and improve our physical and mental wellbeing. Cinemas and movie theatres, indoor amusement centres, arcades, outdoor and indoor play centres, and betting agencies, will be allowed to reopen. Cafés, restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs can have up to 100 patrons for each indoor or outdoor space, or one person per 4 square metres (excluding staff), whichever is lesser. This will allow smaller venues to accommodate additional people. Bars, pubs and clubs will also be able to serve alcohol to groups of up to 10 seated patrons without serving a meal. Sports, dance and martial arts can return to full-contact training. Circuit training can resume. Restrictions have eased but your responsibility hasn’t. Keeping Canberra COVID-free is now, more than ever, in the hands of local people and businesses. Look out for updates on our website www.covid19.act.gov.au/changes

19.01.2022 There are many apps, sites and games that children use, and few parents, carers or teachers have time to become an expert on each one. The good news is, you don...’t have to be! In our first Australian Federal Police ThinkUKnow live streamed session, we’ll be breaking down online activities into what children and young people SEE, SAY and DO online. By developing an understanding of the way children and young people use technology, parents and carers can confidently manage online safety challenges through a combination of simple behavioural and technical actions. To find out more, take 15 minutes out of your day and tune-in to our Facebook Live presentation series next week.

07.01.2022 Wart the Worry Ghost Wart The Worry Ghost is a 52 page booklet to help children manage and deal with their anxiety. Anxiety becomes problematic when the perception of danger is false or grossly exaggerated resulting in unnecessary behaviours that restrict a child’s experiences and decreases their happiness. This book is designed to be used by the parent/s and child together. Using three characters, each defining worry, wisdom and courage, this book sets challenges for the child to overcome their anxiety and live a less stressful life. Full colour illustrations and activities at the back of the book make this publication a fun and interactive way to learn how to best manage this powerful emotion.
