23.01.2022 GREEDY EYES 16th September, 2020 Dag Heward ... READ: Luke 12:13-31 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 1 Timothy 6:6 Some people are not called to be heads, but they want to be heads. They look with greed at the things their superiors have. They look with greedy eyes at the cars and houses which their bosses have! Some people would not even be satisfied if they were given your wife. They do not just want what you have. They actually want to be you! Some people are so greedy that they want nothing but to replace you. They want to be you! The Bible says, Beware of covetousness. The prodigal son had everything at home. Do you remember what he said in his time of need? He declared that even the servants in his fathers house had more than enough to eat. Discontentment and greed drove him out of a place where he had everything. He was inspired by demons to seek after non-existent fantasies. Whenever someone is led by evil spirits, he ends up in a dark and barren land. It is the Lord who leads people to green pastures. It is the devil who leads people to the place of desolation. Do you have the spirit of greed? Let Apostle Pauls admonition guide you and deliver you from this destructive spirit of greed: But godliness actually is a means of great gain when ac- companied by contentment (1 Timothy 6:6, NASB).

20.01.2022 CLEMENCY 12th September, 2020 Dag Heward-Mills ... READ: Ephesians 4:4-16 But unto every one of us is given grace ac- cording to the measure of the gift of Christ. Ephesians 4:7 To be called by God means that the grace of God is upon you. In the first place, it is Gods unmerited favour that gives us our salvation. But when God calls you, He shows you even more kindness and clemency. This kindness is over and above the kindness that caused your salvation. When this unmerited favour is extended even further that you receive a call to work for God! Indeed, to receive grace is to receive favour, benevolence, clemency and leniency. It is this leniency from God that invites and welcomes somebody like you into the ministry! The Hebrew word for grace is chen, which means graciousness, kindness, receiving favour or becoming precious. From this definition, receiving a call and receiving grace means that you have been well-favoured by the Lord. Indeed, you are precious because the call of God is upon you. The Greek word for grace is charis, which speaks of the divine influence upon your heart. This grace will only stir up gratitude that motivates you And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth (John 1:14). And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him (Luke 2:40).

13.01.2022 INTRUDER 14th September, 2020 Dag Heward-Mills ... READ: Hebrews 3:1-6 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. 1 Corinthians 4:2 One of my pastors shared an important vision with me. In this vision, he was asleep in his bed at home in the middle of the night. An intruder came through the window and walked up to his sleeping figure on the bed. When the intruder got to his body, the intruder opened what looked like a door in his chest, put something inside it and ran out of the window. This intruder was no other person than Satan. God had revealed to this brother that Satan would try to plant something in his heart. God was warning him to be careful about seeds that Satan could sow in his spirit. This vision clearly illustrated to me that Satan was at work trying to poison the hearts of the people that I was leading. Because Lucifer is basically a rebel, he inspires all rebellions. Every time you fight disloyalty and rebellion you are fighting Satan directly. Because Lucifer is the embodiment of all rebellion, teachings on loyalty and disloyalty are direct attacks on his presence in a church or ministry. Go to the root of the matter and deal with Satan in your church by confronting disloyalty and teaching your people to be loyal. Now the most important thing about a servant is that he does just what his master tells him to (1 Corinthians 4:2, The Living Bible).

READ: Hebrews 11:24-29 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: forhehad respect unto the recompence of the reward. Many of us are so impressed with the world, with rich countries, with impressive buildings, shops, roads and fancy lives. But none of these things impressed Moses. He had been in Pharaohs house for years but was not impressed by the life of an Egyptian king. He did not see anything in it that made it worth him staying there. Unfortunately this cannot be said of pastors today. One visit to America is enough to convince most pastors to leave their poor African cities and migrate to America where they see an abundance of supermarkets, shiny lights, flashy cars, excellent roads and bridges. They are overwhelmed with the abundance of shopping malls, shoe shops, clothes shops and designer outlets. Somehow Moses was not impressed with the things he saw in the palace. He remained faithful to his Israeli heritage and calling. I have met countless pastors who abandoned their calling in African nations for a more lucrative and profitable ministry in America. But I have not met many pastors who abandoned America for the poor African cities. Unfortunately this is the sad trend of ministry today. If we are going to achieve the great things that Moses did we cannot afford to be impressed by Pharaohs delicacies and delights. Decide not to be impressed by anything the world has to offer. You can live without it and be happy without any of these things.
