24.01.2022 It is well recognised that weeds, seeds and herbicide resistance genes have the potential to move across farm boundaries and between different land uses. Some of Australia’s most important agricultural weeds have highly mobile seed and pollen, as well as the potential to become resistant to the most important herbicides. MSF is thrilled to be a partner in the Area Wide Management (AWM) project.... The focus of this project is investigating and demonstrating the agronomic, economic and social benefits of tackling the problem of mobile weeds on a broader, and cross-industry scale. Learn more about how MSF, our partners, stakeholders, supporters and farmers involved are taking an area wide management approach for cropping systems weeds: https://research.csiro.au/weed-awm/ WATCH this quick video explaining the concept of area wide management for cropping systems weeds: https://bit.ly/2HDEuAE This project is supported through funding from the Australian Government Department of Agriculture as part of its Rural R&D for Profit program and the Grains Research and Development Corporation and the Cotton Research and Development Corporation. #AWM #MSFProjects

21.01.2022 MSF PROJECT UPDATE Area wide management of weeds fleabane trials begin in Sunraysia. It’s been a slow start to the Area Wide Management of weeds project with extremely dry summer conditions in 19/20 failing to germinate any fleabane weeds, therefore no trials were conducted in the first year. However, this season's late spring rainfall has provided optimal conditions for weed germinations and 3 trials have been planned over summer....
