07.01.2022 #FlashbackFriday Sydney Opera Rehearsal Studios involved MSJ in the mid 80s with the refurbishment of an existing building in Surry Hills. The refurbishment involved new timber floors for dance and operatic rehearsals. On weekdays a guided tour of the Opera Centers production workshops and rehearsal studios provides an insight first hand into how an opera is made. Sydney Opera House

The 1980s at MSJ saw a shift from the emphasis on a functionalist approach to a search for a richer language of form.
