16.01.2022 Meet the Cast!! Audrey will be played by Rhona Bechaz! Taking on this role unexpectedly a few weeks ago, Rhona has embraced the bubbly, naive character of Audrey with open arms, and brings a sense of fun and character to the role. Rhona has had over 20 years experience in the Performing Arts, starring in productions of Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Love’s Labours Lost, and The Sound of Music, amongst countless ensemble and supporting roles. She has directed prod...uctions of Chicago, Inside, and Macbeth, as well as worked with young people as a high school Drama, Music, and Art teacher for the last 14 years. Rhona’s career in performance began on the Sunshine Coast at the local performing arts academy, where she then studied a Bachelor of Theatre Arts (USQ) in Toowoomba, followed by a Graduate Diploma in Education (USQ). She holds qualifications through the Australian Music Examination Board and Trinity College of London, and has great passion in passing down her knowledge and experience to the next generations of performers. Her love of the Arts lead her to a career in teaching, and her last two years of owning and managing Ms Rainbow’s Performing Arts Studio have been glorious. Rhona has such passion for the Arts, and the joy of being involved this wonderful production from both a directorial and acting perspective has been both exhausting and wonderful! She feels so blessed to work with such an amazing group of people, and have formed such close friendships. When she’s not on stage or teaching at the studio, Rhona loves to spend time with her husband, three beautiful children, family and friends. Purchase your tickets to see Rhona and the rest of this phenomenal cast THIS WEEKEND: https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing?eid=687422

15.01.2022 Meet the Design Team!! This amazing group of people has made Skid Row come to life onstage, with their creativity, talent, and sheer willpower! Alan Fredericks designed and constructed our amazing set and the largest Audrey II puppet (with a lot of trial and error!!) And engineered a way so our giant puppet could speak, move... and eat! ... Celeste Hall designed and painted our set and stage props, and added the special additions to make the set come alive! Take special note of her hand-painted signage and wall hanging, her art is available in town!! Brenda Banks created 18 hand puppets, and gave our Audrey II puppets life! She has wrestled with upholstery foam, spray paint, wire, and fabric to bring our alien plant into existence! Shakira Simpkins has shared her artistic flair, and not only has she added to the relative beauty of our set, she also put her hand up to be our puppeteer for all sizes of Audrey II! Though you can't see her, you will see Audrey II moving, talking, and chomping onstage - and that's Shakira!! So welcome the creative who brought Audrey II and this show to life!! Purchase your tickets to see their wonderful work. https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing?eid=687422

12.01.2022 It is with great excitement I announce that in 2021 our studio will be owned and managed by Melissa Hadwen! I’m devastated to be leaving all of the beautiful families and students who have passed through our doors over the last two years, but my own little family will be making it’s way to Emerald to follow my husband’s new job opportunities. While I am going to miss everyone more than I can say, I am so comforted to be leaving you in Melissa’s competent and capable hands! I ...know you will welcome her with open arms, and you will no doubt recognise her beautiful smile as a familiar face at the studio and events. Melissa has been a Biloela local for over 10 years. This Mum of 4 has studied multiple dancing styles and participated in Dance and Speech Eisteddfods, as well as showcases and dance concerts. Prior to moving to Biloela Melissa was involved in multiple productions including ‘The Sound of Music’ and performed in several locally produced plays. As a teenager and once finishing school Melissa discovered a passion for teaching dance and for supporting the development and growth of young children as an Early Childhood Educator. Melissa has taught tap and jazz dance privately for students with a focus on fun, personal growth and joy of movement. She is a Certified Progressing Ballet Technique instructor and she is now working towards her Level 7 Exam in Musical Theatre. Melissa is now the Co-operator of Embrace Family Day Care, and has reignited her passion for Performing Arts and Dance. Melissa brings with her a wealth of knowledge in childhood development, and will be stepping into Ms Rainbow’s shoes as Ms Lissa, and teaching Musical Theatre, Rainbows & Twinkles Ballet, Tap, Gymnastics, and Progressing Ballet Technique. Drama and Cheerleading will continue to be taught by Genevieve Corfield and Molly Dendle (respectively). To ensure continuity and our beautiful family atmosphere, the foundations of Ms Rainbow’s Performing Arts Studio will all remain the same; there will be no change to uniforms, classes offered, code of conduct, expectations, and location. There will be an exciting Open Day on the 16th of January at the studio! Our 2021 timetable and handbook will be available next week, and enrolment places will open next week!
