10.01.2022 During ISO plenty of us were working from home. Employees are not exempt from lodging a workers compensation claim because they are working from home. As an employer have you ensured your employees are supplied correct equipment? Can you ensure your employees are working in a safe environment? Have you reviewed their workstation? #injuryprevention #workplacesafety #workerscompensation

06.01.2022 A few years ago I hired a bright, kind, polite girl. She was welcomed into the team and fit into the crew well, they liked her so much that they called her their little sister and took her under their wing to teach her the ropes and to keep her safe whilst out on site. This one day their little sister and colleague didn’t turn up to her shift. I then got a call I will never forget, a call from this girl’s mum to tell me that she had taken her own life and won’t be coming ba...ck to work. To hear the heartbreak and confusion in this mum voice is something I will live with for the rest of my life. On RUOK day, I went to her funeral to offer support the only way I knew how. On reflection of this, I asked myself, Should I have called her her more? How did I not see that she was struggling? How did her crew not know that she was feeling this way? September 10 is RUOK day and for every year at this time I think of this young girl with what was a promising bright future ahead is now gone. Not just in September, but now is an important time to reach out to colleagues, family and friends to see how they are travelling with life and if they need help. Just asking a question might save a life. I wish I did. #ruok #mentalhealth #workplacesafety #hr See more
