23.01.2022 It will be another exciting night for racing tonight at Flyers. We will see some of our swimmers doing the 100IM. Did you know that the individual medley (IM) is the swimming of all four strokes and is always raced in the order of Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and finishing with Freestyle. Make sure you cheer on all our swimmers tonight.

21.01.2022 Massive thanks to the MSS P&C for tapping into their Building Fund to upgrade our wonderful pool - a freshen up of the grandstands and new play/gather space at the shallow end were completed in time for our first club night on Tuesday, October 15. Our little swim club has hit 100 members showing that we are definitely THE cool kids on the block. Go Flyers!

More information will follow on the winners of our points and other trophies for the season. Take care of yourselves and others, in whatever way possible. ... 20.01.2022 TROPHY COLLECTION FRIDAY 17 JULY Welcome everyone to the 2020/2021 Flyers Season!! But wait....before we look to the future, we need to finish celebrating our wonderful last season which was rudely cut short by something Im not daring to mention!... Its time to crack out the trophy box and present our 2019/20 swimmers their participation trophy.....it will be like Christmas in July! This Friday afternoon bring your Flyers down to Hawthorne Park (near the playground) between 3:15-4:30pm to collect their trophy. If you cant make it, you can arrange for another Flyers family to collect your trophy on your behalf. For reasons Im again not going to mention, please respect social distancing requirements, use the hand sanitiser provided and even though it seems like forever since we have seen each other, please refrain from hugging and kissing For those swimmers that will be receiving an Achievement or Perpetual trophy, they will be handed out in the coming weeks. We have plans of something a little more special! Thank you for understanding on the delay and for your ongoing support. 19.01.2022 We have some delicious choices in the canteen tonight! To celebrate St Patricks Day, our friends at The Dandelion Social have made a traditional Chicken Curry & Rice and Bacon & Cabbage. Plus we will also have hot dogs and sushi. We ask all families to pay extra attention to health & hygiene measures with yourself and your children particularly with the use of soap and hand sanitiser. You can be assured that we are implementing additional measures within the club in line ...with advice from Qld Govt. We would like to run a CASHLESS canteen tonight - please bring your EFT cards so we can minimise contact. Remember there are no Club Champ points for the swims tonight so if your family has chosen to self-isolate, it will have no impact on your swimmers results for this year.

19.01.2022 Tomorrow evening is Pizza Night as we celebrate Melbourne Cup day at the Flyers! The bar will be open and our friends at 3 Black Bears will be delivering around 6pm. There will also be a limited amount of sushi on offer. If you or anyone you know needs a gluten free option please message our page before 3pm so we can add to the order.

16.01.2022 Congratulations to all the little kidlywinks who did their first ever 25m freestyle tonight. They gave it their all and they did us all proud. Thank you Julia Ham and Hampton Swim School for donating gift pack prizes for achieving this milestone. They were chuffed

16.01.2022 The life of a committee kid! When your parents are cleaning up after a club night, you wait patiently right? Snaffling down some food or chatting with your mate, it all adds to the excitement of Tuesday nights with the Flyers. They come home happy and looking forward to the next meeting - and the canteen brownies! We volunteer for them, the kids love that we play our part in the community and are there for them. We meet other volunteer parents and have a laugh whilst supporting our kids. Its a win-win.

09.01.2022 Hi everybody, We are now in countdown mode for our first regular-season Morningside Flyers swim club night, TUESDAY OCTOBER 15! And guess what! Our wonderful Morningside State School P&C committee has left us a couple of little presents.... ... 1. A shallow-end refurbishment (no more dusty dirty pool deck!) 2. brand spanking newly painted stands. If you havent already done so you need to NOMINATE for your childrens races ahead of time. We should have the portal open ready for you to nominate from Wednesday, and you will need to do so before Sunday night. Remember, if you havent signed up for the PARENT HELPER ROSTER please do so ahead of opening night. 05.01.2022 Hi all, some of you are wondering whether we will go ahead with swim club tonight amid the smoke haze warnings. The answer is: the committee will meet at 5pm to decide, but at this point it is serious doubt. At very least, parents of children with asthma and other respiratory conditions may not want to put their kids at undue risk. The feeling among some is that kids who dont swim due to such concerns shouldnt be unnecessarily disadvantaged. We appreciate your patience until I can send out a definitive call close to 5pm. 01.01.2022 Happy New Year Flyers families!! Looking forward to catching up the 2nd week back of school. If you are looking for swim fun over the break, Hamptons have a Holiday Swim Clinics running 11-14th Jan and 18-21st Jan between 9am and 3pm.. a great way to burn off that excess school holiday energy! Information in attached flyer. All days include a large variety of skills and stroke activities that will cater to developing all strokes and technique (plus FUN sessions/ regular breaks)
