23.01.2022 Our very lucky winner of the Christmas Tree Scratchy was won by Todd Toby. Black D 44. It was drawn by Kirby Shannon at the IGA store on the 30th November. The Mount Morgan Historical would like to thank everyone for their support.

22.01.2022 Winner of the Mount Morgan Historical Museum Father's Day Raffle with blue ticket B 046 was Mr John Fisher of Rockhampton. He was visiting the museum and was given a guided tour by Gwen's grandchildren, Georgia, Myra and Sarah. Georgia then went on to sell him the winning raffle ticket. The raffle was drawn by Kirra Swain from Gallery 7 on Saturday 5th September 2020. Thanks to all who supported the museum by purchasing tickets.

18.01.2022 Thank you to all who donated to our go fund me campaign. The amount raised so far is $625. This will enable us to do some much needed minor repairs.

17.01.2022 It is with much pleasure that Gwen and the Staff of Mount Morgan Historical Museum announce the reopening of the Museum on Wednesday 3rd June at 10 am.We have in place the necessary CO-VID 19 safety precautions and social distancing rules will apply.Also in place is the visitor register and questionaire . We hope to see you soon.

12.01.2022 This train was blown off the line when hit by a strip storm of wind and hail on 8th December 1931 at Cooneel between Wowan and Rannes. The train crew consisted of driver Ted Sheehan, fireman Vic Melbom and guard Bill Brenton Thanks go to Jeanette Watson(Nee Nesbitt) for the photo.

09.01.2022 It is with much regrets that from 3.30 this afternoon the Mount Morgan Historical Museum will be closed to the public due to the closures ordered by the Government owing to the Coronavirus outbreak and social distancing. The book Black Gold and Intrigue will be on sale at the counter till then. If anyone wants to buy it after that ,they can email us on [email protected] and arrangements can be made

05.01.2022 Does anyone know if there are in existence any photos of the Honour Roll Board that was located in the vestibule of the Mount Morgan Gold Mining Company? The museum would be interested in obtaining a copy for their collection.

03.01.2022 Many thanks to the carers and students of Rockhampton Grammar School after hours care for their polite manners and general demeanour and inquisitive minds.They really enjoyed themselves and they were a pleasure to have at the Mount Morgan Historical Museum. Gwen was very pleased to be their guide for the tour.
