09.01.2022 Good news has been received today, that Covid-19 restrictions have been eased for Residential Aged Care Facilities. The following changes are now in place: Residents may now leave an aged care facility and return for any reason. Children under the age of 16 years are now able to visit, provided that they have had their flu vaccination (babies under 6 months are exempt from the flu vaccination requirement). Whilst care and support visits are generally limited to one vis...it per day by up to two people, aged care facilities are now able to approve additional visits where this is appropriate or necessary. It should be noted that these visits may include family members or friends providing social support to a resident. Visitors coming from the Northern Territory, Western Australia or Tasmania are now permitted to visit aged care facilities within 14 days of entering South Australia. Visitors coming from other states/territories are only permitted to visit within 14 days if they are providing end of life support to a resident (and are required to self-quarantine at all other times). The updated Direction, and fact sheet for visitors, are attached to this email. These documents, along with a range of other useful information / documents, are also available on the Aged Care Facility Visitation in SA page of the SA Health website. Mt View Homes will continue to have the door locked so that visitors are able to be screened as required, including temperature taken, sign in and hand washing. We are also asking that visits occur in resident’s rooms or in lounge areas away from other residents. Social distancing is still to apply. We thank you for your patience, understanding and support with these measures of protection for our residents, as we safely move forward.

03.01.2022 Mt View Homes has received 3 years accreditation and passed all 42 requirements of the new 8 aged care standards. This is an amazing result with the new standards coming into effect in July 2019. I wish to thank the amazing group of staff who all work hard to provide an excellent service to our residents and their families. We might not always be perfect, but we strive to deliver a quality service to meet individual needs and requests. Thank you to all our families who work so well with us, and to our volunteers who support the activities within, and the community as a whole for their continued support. Amazing effort and a result i am very proud to receive.
