23.01.2022 Check it out! The Mount Barker Football Club are currently hard at work keeping our Kookaburra Homes show grounds oval in tip top shape. The ground has been playing well, with the outfield faster than any of us have ever seen but it’s sure to be looking even better in the new year. We can’t wait to get back out there in the new year and bring home some more wins for the 2020/21 season.

14.01.2022 A big shout out to the Mount Barker Football Club for use of their club room facilities over the weekend. Great to have the two clubs working together on some small and some much larger scale projects! The presentation nights bring a close to the cricket season so why not get geared up for a bit of football action. I know a bunch of our juniors and a couple of our seniors already play for the Roo's, including a couple of seniors looking to get back into the game after a few years. If you are interested, why not get a bunch of your cricket mates together and head out for a game!

13.01.2022 142 for victory. The Burra bowlers getting it done restricting the visitors to all out 10 for 141. Veteran Turk was the pick of the bowlers taking 4/33 of his 7 overs supported by wily spinner Deklan Porter 3/40 off 9 overs .

09.01.2022 Thanks to those that came last night for the Senior Presentation Night. We celebrated some outstanding contributions to the 2020/21 season of cricket, inducted three new life members and caught up with some legends of the club. I don’t know about others but my highlight was certainly hearing from new Life Member Robin Crompton. Some great stories about growing up, riding to the oval with his mates, hoping to get a game as a sub fielder, to then being thrown the club captain roll at no less than 17 years old!!

06.01.2022 Our U14s team were one of the few junior sides around the association to get a result in their game this weekend. Wet and windy conditions saw most others abandoned, including our under 16s. Captain Noah Roberts won the toss, continuing his good luck with the coin toss, choosing to bat in the sides 20/20 hit out. The opening pair of Noah R & David B got the Burras off to a good start both retiring after making their 20. Bailey Horsell came to the crease with some good form wi...th the bat but unfortunately was bowled for a duck and was the only wicket for the day. Harry Lovelock continued his unbroken run of not outs this season with a quick fire 23. The rest of the team came in looking to set a good total with quick runs to support the good work done early. The Burras went to the break with the score at 1/140 after our 20 overs. Lenswood started the run chase after a short break due to a rain front coming through but that didn't stop the Burras from taking a steady flow of wickets, interrupting the home sides run chase. Harry picked up a wicket in the first over, while TJ and Lachie Wertz also picked up a wicket each. A big improvement in the field this year has seen the team taking a lot more wickets and fielding a lot tighter. This trend continued with Noah R & David B both with some sharp fielding in slippery conditions affecting two very good run outs. Lenswood were restricted to 5/73 for their 20 overs, handing the Under 14 Burras their second win! Batting H. Lovelock 23, N. Roberts 21, D Bredenkamp 21 & J Kranz 14 Bowling H Lovelock 1, T Summers 1 & L Wertz 1

05.01.2022 Well tomorrow will see our A Grade sitting out for the weekend, having their second bye for the season. Meanwhile, our B Grade Burras will play at McDonald’s Mt Barker High School against Finniss in a T20! It’s a 1pm start and the team lining up will consist of; Brad Horsell (C)... Bailey Horsell Mark Vogt Zack Wakefield Justin Roberts Noah Roberts Nate Roberts Jason Seymour Jason Webb Ben Thomson Mick Lipscombe It’s set to be a ripper day so why not head out and support our second senior side, especially the A Graders having a rest this week. Good luck boys!

03.01.2022 We wish 2 of our young stars all the best as they take on the Country Cup this week for the Fleuriu team. Jack Kranz will play for the boys under 14 team while Emily Mackenzie will play in the girls Under 16s! Go get ‘em Burras!

02.01.2022 This Saturday will see the Mount Barker District Show take over our home grounds. Why not get on down to the oval and check out what is on offer. Gates open from 9:00am to 4:30pm, 27 March.

02.01.2022 What a turnout! Yesterday arvo we celebrated all of our junior achievements for the 2020/21 season! Great to see so many players and families enjoying the presentations, a few pizzas and a few beverages. For those that missed the presentations, tomorrow we will post up a full list of all our winners.... Must say, the emotion on a couple of the coaches faces, how proud they are of their teams performances throughout the season, makes all the hard work to keep the club up and running so very worth it! As we said, if you can spare an hr or 2 a week we are very much in need of help on our committee and as coaches. Thanks for a great year everyone!
