24.01.2022 Aztec, Captain and I are practicing holding our minutes silence at the end of our drive way for Anzac day. Sadly, I was the worst at being still and silent fo...r a full minute Have you seen the posts suggesting we all stand at the end of our driveways at 5.55am and observe a minutes silence? I would love to see photos of each of you doing this in your own way. I've got 2 days to practice so hopefully I won't let my team down showing respect for all those who have fought for our way of life, furred, feathered and human. See more

22.01.2022 Happy 1st birthday Wendy! Wendy turned 1 today and her owner Michelle is far away missing her so much. So Wendy came for a road trip to Albany. A walk in the park, a trip to the op shop for a new teddy and rug, treats at the cafe then roast chicken and potato with an egg and liver sprinkles for tea. It's so lovely to see you maturing into such a sweet girl Wendy. I'm sure you'll get another birthday party when your family is home.

20.01.2022 Little Misty all tired out from working so hard learning new things Misty came for a training session today so we could set up good behaviours from the start. At Misty's age all of her learning is games that we fit in to our normal daily routine. If the human or dog starts to get frustrated or bored, then that means we're doing something wrong. Misty is also going to do a bit of sheep work on the hobby farm she lives on, so we've started to put in a few cue words that will help her when she starts sheep work training. She is such a smart little cookie that I'm sure by our next training session she will have not only have doubled in size but will also have her training down pat and be ready for new things to learn.

20.01.2022 Aww! This goodest boy Zeus waiting so nicely for dinner.

19.01.2022 Zach: The problem with snuggle beds is the hole in the top. Ashling: I got you bro

17.01.2022 Just told this goodest girl that after staying with me for a heckin long time, only 1 more sleep till she goes home. Pretty sure she understood. I'm so happy for you Mocca but will miss our quiet coffee breaks that kept me sane.

16.01.2022 How do you get a Teddy Bear into its bedroom? Sasha thought this was heaps more fun than just getting dragged in there.

12.01.2022 Shout out to this goodest Boy for being he's best self today. On our walk today we realized that one of the orphaned joey's was stuck outside the fence. So Jack and I walked over to it and it came hopping up, then hopped alongside us back home, where we had to walk up to an older kangaroo for it to stay with. Bare in mind that Jack has an extremely high prey drive. He walked along close beside me the whole time, trying really hard not to look at the temptation bouncing a...round right next to him. Then to finish off the test, when we got back to the house yard, the sick chook I've been nursing came running up and got in under our feet. Jack did so well and didn't try to eat anything So proud of you, handsome dude. So often with rescue dogs, humans have bred in high prey drive or high energy and then we leave them as young pups without an older role model or human guidance during those so important formative months. For those that step up to take a rescue dog on, it's a constant balance between management of what cannot be changed and re training very deep set reactions with a lot of patience. I love having rescue dogs come to the kennels and you can see they know how loved they are and how far they have come. My hat is off to all of those that invest the time and care into these dogs. Please remember to pass on Jack's information to anyone that you think might have a good home for him. As many of you know, I have had Jack for a few years now. I have tried several times to find the right home for him but because of he's needs, it just hasn't worked out each time. The routine of the kennels is familiar and comforting for him and I keep teaching him new tricks and skills to keep him busy. I'm very tempted to enter him in the November Obedience trial in Albany. 10.01.2022 Kennel life is so hard

07.01.2022 These 2 fur babies are still missing. Escaped in the Kendenup area on Sunday. They dont know the area at all so are unlikely to make it home unassisted. Please, please keep an eye out for them. Thank you!!

06.01.2022 What a good boy looks like with over $100 of raw meat in paper bags at he's feet. Sausages, drum sticks and a lamb roast. Maybe he knew the drum sticks were he's dinner goodest boy Sparky.

06.01.2022 Everything is okay in my world just now. I hope your all managing to find some relax yourself.

06.01.2022 Give yourself permission to grieve the loss of an animal just as much as you would for a family member. Because that's what they are. Go through all the stages. Give yourself time. Accept that things will never be the same again, but you'll be okay. I once had a Siamese fighting fish. He was called Archibald. He knew that if he swam in a circle really fast, I would see him and feed him. I trained him to swim through a hoop. I used a bubble blowing wand. I was a wreck for days when Archibald left me. And I'm not ashamed of that. When your done with the worst of your grief, remember the good times and the funny times and the 'your weird but I still love you' times.

03.01.2022 We are so proud of Faith and Spottie helping kids to enjoy reading.

01.01.2022 Posting this because everytime this boys owner turns up I tell her he's had a great time with Captain. But as soon as she gets here, he totally ignores Captain and just wants to leave. so here's proof if your interested, this is a great video to see this beautiful boy learning to play nicely. He is only 10 months old and he's owner has put a lot of work into training, as you need to do if you want to own a German Shepherd. This boy still has a lot of growing both mentally and physically to do. You can hear that I need to put a few gentle reminders in when he gets excited. But just one quiet word and he listens and softens he's behaviour straight away. One of the joys of running a Boarding Kennel is seeing dogs grow up and go through all the stages
