25.01.2022 Great news! We are allowed to reopen! We are looking at Monday, 22 June at this stage, perhaps next week if the stars align However, with restrictions in place to ensure everyones safety, we will need volunteers to clean certain items/areas before and after our session. Please comment on this post the dates you can volunteer, and if it is before/after the session.... Sessions will be strictly BYO SNACK AND WATER BOTTLES

25.01.2022 Beautiful day to make Fathers Day gifts and play outside

25.01.2022 The Big Cheese Our president is responsible for overseeing playgroup, including set up and pack up (with the help of others of course) and coordinating fundraising efforts. Occasionally, you will need to liase with other organisations to prepare special sessions, such as the library and PGWA. During meetings, you will need to keep the peace (just kidding, you just need to chair the meeting).... You will have the support of your committee to help all of these things run smoothly, and its great team to be a part of!

23.01.2022 Dear Playgroup Families, The World Health Organisation (WHO) has classified Coronavirus (COVID-19) as a pandemic. What does this mean for face-to-face Playgroup sessions? While we have not yet received direction from Government to stop our face-to-face playgroup sessions, we are recommending playgroups consider suspending sessions as a precaution to support the health and safety of our community. This is an unprecedented situation for all of us, so please continue to be kind ...to each other. Look after yourself, your loved ones and stay connected with your playgroup community. Keep following our website and engaging on social media. For further information please refer to our latest news: https://playgroupaustralia.org.au//covid-19-community-upd/ *Due to this information, we WILL NOT be opening until we have been further advised

22.01.2022 Good morning families! With playgroup starting again we are needing registration forms in for 2020 and payments for the sessions. There are payment options and discounts available. We look forward to seeing you :)

22.01.2022 Good evening all To allow our playgroup to continue opening once the world manages to get back to some kind of normal, we NEED to hold an AGM. To reiterate, our playgroup will CEASE TO EXIST if we cannot get a quorum!! We tried unsuccessfully before we closed to hold the AGM, so now we are asking all our families that intend to return to please participate in our virtual meeting. We need to get as many people attending as we can. Never fear - you wont be harrassed into ...being on the committee, we have that sorted at the moment. We are aiming to schedule the meeting, via FB Messenger, for next Monday, 6 April at 10am. It will not take long. We declare the positions vacant, nominate, elect, DONE! Please comment below if you can attend, and we will make up a group chat Thank you, and look forward to seeing you there. Vanessa

15.01.2022 Lovely first session for 2021! We even made pretend popsicles

14.01.2022 Lots of bubs & snails today

14.01.2022 The Jack of All Trades All good things come in fours! The newly-created fourth committee position is responsible for craft and fundraising. This position suits someone with a creative flair. The CFO (Craft & Fundraising Officer) will find some great ideas to take to playgroup for craft. We have a well stocked craft cupboard, and the help of our whole playgroup family for preparing activities.... The CFO will discover some of the best fundraising options to present to the rest of our playgroup family.

13.01.2022 Wonderful session today! Lots of happy laughter, craft and playing

13.01.2022 See you all tomorrow, rain or shine

12.01.2022 Lots of indoor activities to burn off that excess energy that kids seem to get when it rains

11.01.2022 UPDATE I am extremely disappointed to report that we have not had ANY volunteers to assist us in reopening our playgroup. Government regulations DO NOT ALLOW us to open unless we are able to provide a premise and resources that are safe for our playgroup family. Committee members are even required to complete online training. Our landlord, Mt Barker RSL, has put in a significant amount of work to ensure we comply to these government regulations. It has not been smooth sailing.... In case our members are not aware, our current committee consists of three people. Of these, one has a newborn baby and one has sporadic access to a vehicle to travel, as a direct result of Covid-19. Regardless of these circumstances, it is unfair to rely on three people when we have a lovely family of members to call upon when required. Please, if you are able to help out, we NEED you! Unless we are able to get this assistance, we may be forced to close our doors. This would be a huge disappointment considering the effort the committee has put into reopening and providing a fun, engaging environment for all of our playgroup children. Remember, many hands make light work. We are all going through our own issues at the moment, why not gather together to ease the burden. If anyone has any questions in regard to any of this, please contact me. Regards, Vanessa Frost President Mt Barker Playgroup

10.01.2022 If you are not on our private Playgroup page, please let us know and we can add you. We are currently running a poll about attendance on it!! * EDIT *... Our private page is a way we can share photos of all the fun things we do at playgroup. Unfortunately we cannot add new members until a membership form is signed. The poll was in regard to when members intended returning to playgroup

10.01.2022 Playgroups are a great safe space to encourage children to interact with different age groups!

10.01.2022 Due to the current pandemic and lack of interest with assistance/donations for our Easter Raffle & Bake Sale, we will be cancelling our stall. Thank you to those who volunteered your time Due to the current pandemic and lack of interest with assistance/donations for our Easter Raffle & Bake Sale, we will be cancelling our stall. Thank you to those who volunteered your time

09.01.2022 Superhero Secretary! Our secretary's main role is to input our families' data into the Playgroup WA portal and to type up minutes from meetings (quite basic, no diploma in business required here). You will also need to check our post office box in Mt Barker every once in awhile, and our playgroup email account. Sometimes, you may even need to send an email

08.01.2022 What a beautiful day we had today! So much so that we didn’t get many photos Check out some of socks that are for sale for our fundraiser *we still have some available but they won’t last long!!

08.01.2022 Bring your loose change tomorrow! We will have socks available for purchase at playgroup. Get in early as there is some pretty cool designs, that are sure to go quickly. Priced at a very reasonable $7 a pair. The more we sell, the more we support our playgroup!

07.01.2022 Going to be a cold one tomorrow! We will have the heater on, inside activities/play and craft to do. Make sure you come along for a cuppa :)

07.01.2022 We will have plenty to do inside tomorrow to keep your little ones entertained, make sure you come down and take a break We will have plenty to do inside tomorrow to keep your little ones entertained, make sure you come down and take a break

07.01.2022 Terrific Treasurer Our treasurer gets to talk money! The main duties of our money-handling extraordinaire are making sure fees are paid by our members (and keeping a note of this) and paying a few bills. And frankly, thats a nice feeling when its not coming from your personal account . You will be required to very occasionally visit Bendigo Bank in Mt Barker, mostly to deposit cash. Some basic knowledge of spreadsheets is required.

07.01.2022 WAHOO!! We will be back open this Monday the 18th. Can’t wait to see you all WAHOO!! We will be back open this Monday the 18th. Can’t wait to see you all

06.01.2022 With the recent sessions numbers being very low, we are asking members if they are still planning on attending playgroup. Any non responses will be viewed as a not attending. **Please do NOT attend if you are displaying any flu symptoms** ... Please comment yes or no

06.01.2022 Our latest additions to the fort! What other play equipment/ toys would you like to see?

05.01.2022 Good morning everyone In light of the recent poll, and requests for help, the committee has decided to put off opening our playgroup again until Term 3. We will be embarking on a (hopefully successful) membership drive. If you know anyone who would like to get out and meet some like like-minded people while the kids play, please point them in our direction!! We look forward to seeing you all when we return

05.01.2022 Beautiful morning outside Nature play, play doh, costumes and bikes

05.01.2022 We will be open Monday the 20th of July! Come down and say hi while enjoying a cuppa *Please BYO fruit and water bottle
