15.01.2022 Say hello to Steph! Steph calls Mt Baw Baw her second home as she’s been coming here since she was 4 years old. Fast forward a few years and she’s now been working here for 6 winters as both a lift operator and an instructor. She’s also taken her ski and snowboard qualifications to Japan and Canada. We asked her a few questions about her instructor life: Snow qualifications: I am Level 1 Ski and Snowboard instructor. I have been doing lots of training for a couple of season...s so I’m ready to do my Level 2 ski as soon as I can. Why I love being an instructor: For the people you meet and friendships you make. There are multiple kids who come back every year to have lessons and I just adore them. I remember when I started skiing: I was one of those kids the send it straight down Tank Hill - no turning, just going as fast as I could. I was always trying to be faster than my brother. I specialise in teaching: Skiing at any level. I love helping you improve, you no matter if it’s your first time learning or you want to practice a skill that’s more advanced. You should totally book me for a private because: I am an all round friendly Instructor, I love teaching everyone and anyone. It would be great to help you achieve your goal and learn a new skill. I will be sure to make your day the best it can be. My hot tip for coming to Mt Baw Baw is: Prepare and plan your day so that you can get the most out of this gorgeous mountain. Snow is life because: I grew up skiing and never stopped. It is so much fun and people say if you love your work you will never work a day in your life.

08.01.2022 Have you met Brett? He’s a local boy who’s been skiing since he was 6 and snowboarding since he was 16. Brett has worked at both Mt Baw Baw and Kinosoo Ridge in Canada for multiple winters. We caught up with the shredder and asked some questions: Snow qualifications: Dual Level 1 Ski and Snowboard. I’m working on getting my Level 2 this season. I specialise in teaching: Carving and park on a snowboard. However I feel that my skills are very well rounded. ... My hot tip for coming to Mt Baw Baw is: There are some really great views here, the sunsets are some of the best you will see! Why I love being an instructor: I love seeing new and exciting places, I love to travel and meet new people and I love being active and exercising. Working as an instructor allows me to achieve all of these things. It’s the best job ever! Snow is life because: ‘The snow doesn’t judge’. Everyone can ski or snowboard to their own ability, whether it’s your first lesson, hitting up moguls on a black slope or cruising around on the sit-ski with someone. It doesn’t judge, it’s there for everyone. You should totally book me for a private because: If you are a first time rider I would love for you to come and ride with me. This is the place where I started to learn and I want to be a part of your skiing or snowboarding journey, helping you to learn how to ride. If you have been riding for a bit and need a refresher you can come see me to re-learn those old skills. Or if you have been looking to take on your first park box or a new feature I want to help you achieve that and have fun doing it!

05.01.2022 Check out our instructors training with the sit ski yesterday! If you’re interested in adaptive ski lessons in the future please get in touch. We are continuing to run lessons on weekends. Call us to book on 5165 1136 and select option 2.
