23.01.2022 Mt Bruce Scouts attended Operation Nighthawk, held at Crowsnest, along with many other scouting groups this weekend. A 12km+ hike heading off from early evening onwards. Great job Scouts and leaders. Operation Nighthawk is the largest Scouting Youth activity held in Queensland, other than Jamborees. It is an overnight hike packed with activity bases in the bush for both Scouts and Venturer Scouts. At each of the bases Leadership and Technical Skills are scored on a variety of different tasks, these may include Mapping, First Aid and Scouting Skills.

19.01.2022 Last weekend some of the Mount Bruce Cubs joined many other Cub groups for a weekend of sailing and canoeing at the Brown Sea Water Activities Centre at Shorncliffe. Despite the windy weather on Saturday everyone did really well at their canoeing and sailing!

08.01.2022 Recently, the Gateway Rovers (Rovers from the local district) attended a new region event for Venturers and Rovers where they participated in a cake decorating competition. This was held at the Mt Bruce Scout den - lots of fun and cake decorating occurred!

08.01.2022 Our Scout group spent the long weekend at Flanagan's Reserve and climbed Mt Maroon, among other activities for the weekend. It's a beautiful part of the world!

07.01.2022 Our scouts were camping, hiking, swimming at Guanaba near Mt Tamborine over the weekend. Sunday morning they practised their knots and construction and created a flying fox for some fun before going home. Thanks Kestrel!

This was to recognise: - our Joeys linking to Cubs; - some Cubs linking to Scouts; - 2 x Grey Wolf awards presented - congratulations Dylan and Jack; - a Queens Scout award presented - congratulations All....
