24.01.2022 Words from Sue Clemenger (One of the 2 photographic artists exhibiting at Mt. Buller this season).... I live in Melbourne, and spent my career working in the advertising and television industries. Photography was never a part of my life except when I went on holidays with my little compact camera. I remember loving to capture anything that I thought was visually beautiful, but never stopped to think I could do something more with it. ... Around six years ago I received my first SLR camera as a gift from a special friend. He saw how much I enjoyed taking photos during our holidays, and wanted to encourage that. I had no idea how the camera worked let alone the basics of photography, so I set about gaining my skills through a variety of courses. The more I learnt, the more passionate I became. Now I can’t imagine my life without it.

19.01.2022 This time of the year is a fantastic time to visit our mountain and see our incredible Sculpture Walk! SCULPTURE PARK WALK Over the years Mt Buller has acquired numerous sculptures through a range of avenues, including pieces owned by the Grollo Family, donations from benefactors, acquisitions through the former Mt Buller Easter Art Show, and through the Mt. Buller Sculpture Award held in 2013. Over the last 5 years the Buller Arts Association has been managing and adding to ...the Sculpture Park. This Association is committed to fostering the Arts on Mt. Buller and welcomes input from the community. A diverse collection of sculptural pieces are dotted throughout the Mt Buller Village, and are on display year-round, providing an opportunity to view these sculptures in vastly different alpine conditions depending on the seasons. Download the free Mt Buller Walks app and enjoy an audio tour along with a copy of the Mt Buller Sculpture Park Walk brochure, which will take you on a tour of these amazing pieces of culture detailing each work and its location, as well as giving you some history on the piece and the artist. For more information call 03 5777 6077, or [email protected].
12.01.2022 Winter Wandering, opening July 7 is an exhibition of Alpine inspired photography by Katie Carmichael. Katie started her career as a photographic artist at Melbourne’s Photography Studies College majoring in fine art. From there, she then went on to work with some of Melbourne’s leading commercial photographers, developing a strong insight and understanding of the commercial aspects of photography. Now she has decided to pursue her creative interest in photography as a solo artist, allowing her to put all her energy into her unique artwork. I use my camera as a tool to explore the relentless power and rhythms in nature and its emotive qualities that take us to a place that allows us to reflect, to dream and to pause. Katie Carmichael
