25.01.2022 Happy Easter everyone!! Please keep an eye out on our posts over the holidays as we are going to be tweaking the timetable now that we have a better idea of class sizes and levels. If you haven’t paid membership or term 1 fees yet - please email Barry for details. Term 2 form and fees will come out over the holidays. FIRST CLASS BACK: Tuesday 20 April

25.01.2022 Stay safe team! No classes will be held for the next 7 days (Sat, Tue & Wed for the moment). Keep checking here for updates.

25.01.2022 All the best wishes for your 80th birthday Grand Master Rozinszky from the team at Boroondara Branch!

21.01.2022 We have fought and survived Taekwondo politics. We have fought and survived Taekwondo sanctions. We have fought and survived Taekwondo personal and professional... hardships. We have fought and survived the first lockdown. We WILL fight and survive the second lockdown. MTC.. fighting and surviving that’s what we have done for 6 DECADES.. and that’s what we will keep on doing..!

21.01.2022 Hi team! Been a while hasn’t it? Hope you are all safe and well, and excited about the prospect of training sometime in the future. Wondering if we can ask a favour? Below is a link to a petition asking the government to relax restrictions at least enough so that instructors can go into their clubs to run on-line classes. At present it appears they’re not allowed to do even that!... "Daniel Andrews: Get Taekwondo teachers BACK into the Class Room to run Online Classes" Our goal is to reach 1,000 signatures and we need more support. You can read more and sign the petition here: http://chng.it/9xhjszmDwh Hope to have you supporting the petition and get things going a touch sooner. Barry & the Boroondara team

20.01.2022 Happy new year (albeit slightly delayed!) team!!! Just to let you know that we are still working on securing a location but love the fact that there are so many people keen to get back to training. Watch this space for updates. Barry & Darren

20.01.2022 Bring a friend week Classes start back tonight at 6:30 and don’t forget to check timetable changes.

18.01.2022 Hey everyone!! Keeping you updated with our new location hunt. We love our Saturday morning family sessions so trying to find a location that we can have that - which has proved a little challenging. We are checking out a location (not too far from our existing place) on Monday. So We would love to hear from you below - what days / times did you like training?

15.01.2022 Looking forward to seeing people tomorrow at 3pm. Hopefully the rain will stay away but there are some picnic shelters there that we can hopefully nab before everyone arrives. Details below.... ******* Eglinton Reserve Eglinton Street Kew Bring your own picnic rug and afternoon tea and please take your rubbish home at the end of the day, rather than overflowing the local bins. Outdoor gatherings are still limited to no more than 50 people. As we usually have more than that at our end of year break-up, we would ask that you remain in small groups, scattered around the park. The instructors will circulate and distribute belts and certificates that were earned back at the end of Term 1. The kids can play in groups at the park and adults can circulate and socialise while observing social distancing rules. As I said, it will be a very informal affair this year, but we’re looking forward to catching up. Hope to see you there. Barry, Darren and the team.

14.01.2022 Come join the online classes! Please email [email protected] if you would like to join in. It is a good experience learning from some different trainers so don’t give up cause it is different, learn and grow because of it!! Thanks MTC Doncaster for having us

14.01.2022 UPDATE | So close yet still not quite able to get back to training with the new restrictions. Keep practicing and we will see you soon Stay safe!

12.01.2022 Don’t forget that Saturday classes now start at 3:30! The first 30 mins will be white /yellow - followed by 30 mins of a blended class with blue/red, finishing up with 30 mins of just the blue /red class.

12.01.2022 Awesome work by our Grand Master Bronwyn Butterworth!!!

11.01.2022 Hey everyone! We will still be going ahead with training but do ask that all members over 12 do come with a mask. We generally have less than 30 people but ask that parents are mindful of the numbers in the room. Karlee... PS sorry I haven’t been at training - I have a possible stress fracture and been told to stay off my foot as much as possible

11.01.2022 Keep watching for end of year gathering deets. Reminder that it will be this weekend, Sunday 8th from 3pm.Keep watching for end of year gathering deets. Reminder that it will be this weekend, Sunday 8th from 3pm.

10.01.2022 Hi All The weather is looking pretty ordinary today, but we’ll see how it goes. Even if it rains, I will be at the park for the first hour, at least, to hand out certificates for the few that graded before the shutdown last March. ... I also have a number of Black Belt certificates from Korea to hand out to those that graded last year. But let's hope the weather clears and we’ll see everyone at 3:00pm today. Eglinton Reserve Corner Eglinton Street & Disraeli Street, Kew TODAY 3:00pm to 5:00pm BYO picnic rug and afternoon tea and please take your rubbish home at the end of the day, rather than overflowing the local bins. Barry, Darren and the team.

09.01.2022 It’s been about 6 months since our last newsletter and I know it’s been a difficult time for everyone, but the good news is that we can at last get out and enjoy the sunshine again! Darren and I hope you are all well and have been staying active, fit and healthy. Unfortunately, it has also been a very tough time for the club and the extended shutdown has affected the financial viability of maintaining the venue that we have enjoyed at 12 Peel Street, Kew, for the past 8 years.... As a result we have had to vacate the building. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Holy Trinity Kew church for their support during our time at Peel Street. Looking forward, we are now working to find and secure a local school or public hall from which we can run classes in 2021. We will keep you posted on our progress. If any of you have contact with a suitable venue, please let us know. On a brighter note, plans are afoot for an end of year party in one of the local parks, just to catch up and reconnect. (provided restrictions allow) Also I have a few belts and certificates to hand out from gradings held at the end of Term 1. Please keep Sunday 6th December free (3pm onwards). (NOTE - The date in the newsletter emailed was incorrect...sorry!!) Barry

09.01.2022 Sad newsbut the ballet school (priority tenant) has asked for our time slots from Term 3. Please keep an ear out as we look out for a new venue for us to train in. If you know of anywhere - please PM us. The more ears to the ground the quicker we can secure something.

07.01.2022 In addition to my previous post - can all parents please make sure you use the QR code on the desk as you come through the entry way to check in your student. As a back up - please sign in but of course the Viva Health check in system is a quicker way to locate who has attended if needed. Thanks!

06.01.2022 The weather this past weekend was beautiful to get out under a tree and practice some patterns (unless you suffer from hayfever!) - post a picture of yourself and tell us how you are keeping fit or practicing Taekwondo. Great work Darren.

04.01.2022 There will be a sign in sheet at today’s gathering and we ask that all who attend come first to sign in. Thanks!!
