23.01.2022 Goodbye George, Almost 4 years ago the Du Toit family packed up their worldly possessions and headed to Western Australia to start a new life. To our good fortune, they chose Albany as their new home. In that time Dr George has performed surgeries and delivered, sometimes difficult, babies by the hundreds. He has mentored and taught an amazing amount of students, both locally and across the nation, regarded as one of the best. A lover of running and peoples health and well-...being, George was a massive supporter of parkrun and athletics in Albany. When we asked George what hed like to do for a send off, it was no surprise he said parkrun, swim and coffee with friends please. So this Saturday, the 19th we are meeting at the Surf club at Middleton, 8.00 am, for a run/walk around Mt Clarence for old time sake, then a dip at Mids, followed by coffee at the Bay. 19.01.2022 We were very sad today to hear of the passing of our lovely Pattie. A Mt Clarence parkrun stalwart for years, she loved parkrun with a passion and was loved in return. She passed very peacefully. Pattie will be very much missed.

19.01.2022 The Western Australian Government has now mandated electronic check-in via the SafeWA app for any place where an event is held. As such, parkrun events are now required to print and display a unique QR code (attached), at various locations around the event. We ask that the QR code is also added to each event’s social media channels and as a news article on the event website. Walkers, runners and volunteers checking in via the app is fundamental for parkrun to continue operati...ng in WA, therefore participants are strongly encouraged to check in before leaving home, in their car, at or after the event each week. Should participants have any problems scanning the QR Code or do not have a compatible device, we would suggest another participant or volunteer use their device and register their community member as a new entry by rescanning the QR Code. Please note, due to privacy considerations, paper forms cannot be used for contact tracing purposes.

17.01.2022 To the amazing community that is Mt Clarence parkrun, thank you! The second hand sports shoe collection is growing, the ginormous bag is half full, and your generosity is overwhelming (the bag is also really heavy... Probably should have taken it outside already... ) To the person who gave a whole bag of baby shoes - oh my heart strings , to the person who gave a whole bag of white school shoes - that was a fun puzzle , to the many people who leave one shoe tied up and the other loose - seriously? To everyone who contributed shoes for tiny feet through to massive feet - thank you!!

The weather played nice - it never rains at parkrun so why start at not parkrun - crazy socks were the order of the day as well as the obligatory swim (not by all ) followed by coffee.
