23.01.2022 Congratulations to our year 12s who celebrated their completion of school last night at St Francis winery in Old Reynella.

20.01.2022 Today marks the end of NAIDOC week. The theme for this year is 'Always Was, Always Will Be'. To celebrate NAIDOC we were honoured to host Teena Franey, of the Arrente people who come from Central Australia. Teena is an artist who has sold works to several famous celebrities. She worked with our Reception classes to produce art which told the story of the Seven Sisters. This story relates to the journey aboriginal people took to find water by following the star cluster known... as the Pleiades. Teena also bravely shared her harrowing survival story as a young girl who was stolen from her family. It was a privilege for our Middle and Senior School Students to listen to her story and to ask questions of her experiences.

19.01.2022 Please be advised, the last day of trading for the canteen will be this Friday the 4th December. It will be closed all of next week.

18.01.2022 Dear parent/caregivers, The Premier today announced that schools and preschools will reopen to all students on Monday 23 November. As a result, Mount Compass Area School will be open and operating as normal. ... We will not be offering an alternative home-based learning program. While OSHC is able to operate as usual, families should check with their OSHC service whether it is operating a service on Monday. As the Chief Public Health Officer said, just because the hard lockdown is being lifted does not mean that the risks associated with COVID-19 have passed. As a result, we will minimise the number of people coming and going from our site. Wherever possible, please drop and collect your child at the gate and maintain the appropriate physical distance from other adults. More information on excursions, events and sporting activities, and use of masks will be available soon. Thank you very much for your support over the last couple of days. 12.01.2022 STATEWIDE LOCKDOWN The Premier announced today that a statewide lockdown for the next 6 days will commence at midnight tonight, Wednesday 18th November. Preschools, schools and childcare centres will close from Thursday 19th November until Tuesday 24th November. However, the current DFE memo indicates that the school will be open with a skeleton staff and the buses will run on Thursday and Friday for students of essential workers only.... Monday and Tuesday next week will be pupil free days. Unless further closures are notified, schools will reopen on Wednesday 25th November. This school closure time will not include any organised home schooling however, students may still access Daymap to complete current assignments and generally engage in other current learning activities.
