21.01.2022 That's a wrap on the Mount Eliza Soccer Sevens! Congratulations to all our winners and a big thank you to every player, team, coach, parent and volunteer. Quite simply, this tournament wouldn't have been possible without you all. 2 or 3 months ago, I don't think any of us thought this was possible but as a club, we're very proud of being able to give everyone some much needed game time.... The spirit in which all the games were played was amazing and it was such a pleasure to welcome so many visiting clubs to Mount Eliza. Wishing you all a safe and happy festive period and looking forward to seeing you all back on the pitch in the New Year.

19.01.2022 We Are Ready To Go! We have received approval from both Football Victoria and our local council to commence training at Emil Madsen under the new guidelines in relation to additional hygiene and social distancing requirements. Next Steps:... The club will be holding a Coach the Coach session this Saturday May 23 from 8.45 to 11.30am, where coaches and team managers are asked to attend. The aim of this session is to allow us to run through the new club requirements around training and traffic flow for both entry and exit from the Emil Madsen training grounds. General Team Training Training will commence for ages U7s to U16s on the weekend of May 31 & June 1 as well as on the following weekend June 6 & 7. This will give coaches/team managers/players 2 training sessions to get familiar and implement the clubs new regulations with the view to then revert to weeknights training if all goes well. - Senior Mens training will commence under new FV guidelines on Wednesday May 27. - Our U6 MiniRoos training will commence on the same weekend as the proposed season start date June 28. Checklist: - All players must be registered with FFA (Play Football) before they can train with their team, this is a FV requirement for insurance purposes. Please note that FV insurance does not cover any COVID19 related issues FAQs When will the season start for competitive games? - Football Victoria confirms a proposed start date of the weekend June 27/28, dependent on a number of key requirements and criteria being met. When will we receive our new club kits and hoodies? - These have been produced, are on their way and should be available for pick up for by all teams June 13/14. More information to follow regarding kit collection. Do we have to pay full fees even if the season structure has not been confirmed yet? - Yes, Football Victoria are doing all they can to ensure the season duration runs as close to possible to normal. However, indications have been made that a pro-rata refund may be available to clubs if the season is, unfortunately, shorter than initially planned. Finally, we hope that we can get this season started in a safe and enjoyable environment as soon as possible. Your Committee

17.01.2022 What a weekend! All our teams and hundreds of players all safely through another weekend of training. Great to see everyone back out and getting game ready while observing the social distancing guidelines. Well done everyone, the Red and White is looking good for the new season.
17.01.2022 Hi everyone, In line with the latest announcements from the Victorian State Government and Football Victoria, we have to advise an immediate stop to all soccer activities across the club. It is with a heavy heart that we have to make this announcement but we have said all along that the health and wellbeing of our members, players and parents remains our priority.... Its also an appropriate time to recognise the efforts by everyone involved over the past couple of months to prepare for the start of the new season. There were times when even getting back to training seemed like a long way off. The fact is that with a huge effort from coaches, managers, families, players and the many MESC volunteers, we were in great shape to start the new season. What weve seen over that time shows what a great club spirit we have and despite this latest setback, we will continue to keep that spirit alive together. While we know a 6-week period of restrictions will commence this evening, lets make sure we stay together and in the best shape possible to start playing again when its deemed safe to do so. As always, we will continue to watch Government and Football Victoria guidelines closely and keep everyone at the club informed of our plans to resume. Stay healthy and remember to keep practicing safely whenever you can. Your MESC Committee

16.01.2022 Dear Members and Parents, With the recent outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19), we felt it was important to provide an update on how this affects Mount Eliza Soccer Club and preparations for the new season. As things stand, there is no immediate effect on club activities including pre-season training which will continue as planned.... We have made this decision given the fact that training sessions are held in relatively small groups but will of course continue to monitor the situation and provide a further update if advice changes. The decision on whether to attend training in the current circumstances is entirely up to players and their families. In the event that you decide not to attend, the club is understanding of your decision and just ask that you keep your team manager informed. For those of you whod like to continue training we do request you to pay close attention to the following guidelines in the interests of health and wellness of team mates and the wider community. If you are displaying any sypmtoms of the virus, please do not attend any of our sessions and consult your GP or health.gov.au for further advice. All schools and public locations where our sessions are being held are taking extra care to keep the premises clean. These venues are endeavouring to provide extra soap and make hand sanitiser available and we encourage all players to clean hands thoroughly and regularly. Please also follow all government travel guidelines and refrain from attending any of our sessions if you have recently visited any country on the advice list. In the interests of the health and wellbeing of the wider community, Football Victoria have advised that three upcoming events, the Female Football Festival, the Community in Business Breakfast and the Futsal State Championships have been postponed. They have also confirmed that all other events and competitions will proceed as planned but that the situation will continue to be monitored. The MESC committee will also continue to keep an eye on the situation and advice from the authorities but in the meantime, we look forward to seeing you at your next pre-seaon traning session. We will, of course, keep you all up to date with any other important updates as and when they arise. Best regards, The MESC Committee
