22.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE It is with much disappointment we wish to advise, the Mt Garnet Races and Rodeo Weekend has been cancelled in May. Both Committees have been informed from our governing bodies it is in everyone's best interests to cancel our events until further notice. We are experiencing a unique and complex situation and we need to work together to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. ... 20.01.2022 Friday Morning and the calcutta has just happened. Everyone is busy in the camps getting ready for the 1st Race Day. Everywhere is a hive of activity. Here are just a few photo's of my favourite memories. So come on help the Committee with some photo's of your Friday Mt Garnet Weekend memories we would love to see them and feel like we are there if only in our own homes. Happy May weekend everyone.

15.01.2022 AGM Notice 2020

14.01.2022 Thursday afternoon at Mt Garnet was always a hive of activity setting up for the start of our 2 days of racing. But this year it is very quiet and the grounds look just Beautiful. Thanks to our committee for all that they do to get ready each year. As you can see our Vice President Gary has been busy planting grass and mowing over the past few weeks and look there he is mowing away. Thanks to Deb for taking the beautiful photo's to show you all how everything looks. BUT we will see you all in 2021 for a bigger better year. Keep a look out on the facebook page over the next few days.

13.01.2022 Saturday Mt Garnet Races has for decades held the LD Lucey Memorial sponsored by the Lucey Families. In 2019 the Committee gave a life time membership to Mrs Marion Lucey. At the time Aunty Marion as we all called her was excited to be presented her Life Time Membership on the grounds of the LD Lucey Grounds and by Brendan Lucey the President at the time. She said that it was a great honor for her. Sadly we lost Aunty Marion on the 18th of December 2019 and I would like to ask everyone to hold a minute silence for our Life time Member. I know that she is up there with all the other Lucey Family looking down on the grounds this weekend.

12.01.2022 Saturday Morning - Well another Calcutter run and now everyone is busy in there camps getting ready for the main race day at Mt Garnet. And the committee is making sure that we have everything ready and waiting for you to come through the gates and have a wonderful day. This year we were to have 6 races so that will now happen in 2021. Here are just a few of my favourite 2019 Saturday race day photo's

11.01.2022 The Atkinson family had a long history of involvement with the Mt Garnet Turf Club, with Vernon being the Club's second longest serving President, with his wife Anne beside him. Anne passed away earlier this month and her funeral is tomorrow. The funeral notice has a link to stream for those who may be interested. Our thoughts are with the family at this time.

09.01.2022 3rd January 2021 Dear Members, We wish all our members a happy new year and hope your 2021 plans will all become reality! We wish to advise our members of the WORKING BEE, to be held on the weekend of Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th January 2021.... On Saturday evening Liz and Warren Butler have generously offered to cook a GET TOGETHER BBQ, at the golf club, the meal will be free to all our volunteers, a great time to connect with our related club members of this fantastic reserve. The tasks we hope to tackle, will include: Removal of all cut tree debris, trunks and tops. Repairs to the roof of our machinery shed. Small concreting jobs on stewards’ towers bases, and some touch up welding to the towers as well. Some electrical jobs. Plumbing maintenance, and installation of a pressure pump to hall amenities block. Mowing and whipper-snipping. It will be a great opportunity for members to come out to Garnet, rekindle friendships and work toward the betterment of our club. Please let me know if you are free to come and help, and which areas you may have skills to assist with. As we are offering an evening meal, please do respond for catering purposes.
