25.01.2022 Never boring with the twins around. I’m sure some of us having siblings like this.

25.01.2022 My little joey with a fractured broken legs needs a name! He’s been in care since Christmas Eve at midnight and has been doing really well since his surgery to pin his leg. I just haven’t been able to come up with a name for him yet. Suggestions?

25.01.2022 Pink is getting huge!

24.01.2022 Some photos from earlier today. Isn’t she majestic.

23.01.2022 Feeding a juvenile microbat, one of my favourite animals to care for. He was found on the road yesterday and rescued by some amazing people. Need to pull out my glasses to feed him though as he only weighs 3.54 grams. Please don’t handle bats as they can carry Australian Bat Lyssavirus. If you see a bat in trouble please give me a call .

23.01.2022 Thank you Mel so much for your support!!

23.01.2022 A poor emaciated, sick young shingleback in care. He’s in bad shape and it’s going to be an uphill battle, but keeping my fingers crossed.

23.01.2022 What a cheeky girl.

21.01.2022 For something a bit different, we’ve had calls for a range of animals these last several days, including a wombat, a few ducks, an emu, a fairy wren, a blue tongue lizard and more. There’s always something different to keep us on our toes!

21.01.2022 Just wondering if anyone has a second hand aviary they are looking at selling? I’m on the lookout to buy an aviary, in good condition, that is a MINIMUM 2m high, 2m long and 1.5m wide. Tia!

20.01.2022 About a day and a half’s worth of bottles made up. Going through a lot of milk with a lot of injured and sick babies in care. If anyone is able to help in supporting us to buy more milk supplies we'd really appreciate it! <3 paypal.com/paypalme/mtgwildlife... 19.01.2022 This poor little boy come in to care after his tree was chopped down. He got a little graze on his nose when he fell out of the tree. He went off to a new carer today who has more room.

17.01.2022 Little Wolf, the baby euro I rescued from the side of a the road on Easter is doing very well! A very loveable little chap.

17.01.2022 Did you know that wombats have pouches which they carry their young (also called joeys) in? If you see a deceased wombat it’s critical you either check their pouch or report them to a local wildlife rescue so they can be checked.

17.01.2022 Just came upon this, on one of the roads in to Glencoe. Just after 9am. You have to wonder how many people just drove around them. Thank you so much to the gentleman in the van that was behind me that stopped to help. It’s nice to know some people care!! Poor little baby has a broken foot and is in shock.

17.01.2022 How I’m spending my Saturday night. Poor ringtail possum that has been attacked by a dog - no ones fault just unfortunate circumstances. Thank you so much to the dog owner who did the right thing by containing the possum and getting it to me.

16.01.2022 Such sad eyes. The joey has survived the night but is still not in great shape. Vet appointment booked in so will know more tomorrow.

15.01.2022 Latest rescues in today. Thank you for everyone that helped transport and organise to get them to me. Poor little joey was found stuck under a fence in a flooded dam. He’s pretty sick so not sure he will survive but i won’t give up yet! Also a sick young magpie. Fingers crossed for both.

13.01.2022 Only a few days away! Please don't forget to sign up if you'd like to attend.

10.01.2022 Couldn’t wait to get out.

10.01.2022 So give you an idea of the typical week as a wildlife rescuer, here are the records from last Friday to yesterday. These cases are either just calls, rescues attended to or animals taken in to care (some are a combination of them). 3 Brushtail possums 9 Swamp wallabies 1 Ringtail possum ... 11 Various birds 1 Blue tongue lizard 1 Lost dog 1 Koala 1 Turtle 1 Sugar glider No rest for the wicked!

09.01.2022 Already shaping up to be one of those mornings. Poor swamp wallaby was spooked, ran in to a fence and couldn’t get out. In the process she’s destroyed the poor home owners plants.

08.01.2022 Did you know all the different species need different teats? And it can vary depending on what age they are. Each joey (kangaroo, possum, wallaby etc.) can use up to 6 teats a day. And when I have say 10 joeys in care that’s 60 teats and 60 bottles a day! There are a few people around that make teats, and sell them $4-5 each, so that x60 is $300 worth in use at a time. As such I made the decision to make my own teats. It takes fair bit of time, so I generally only get a chance to make teats when things are a bit quieter around here but it’s totally worth it. These are some teats in the making Ive been working on today.

08.01.2022 Interesting rescue last night of an injured swamp wallaby at Port McDonnell again. This time on the breakwater. Huge thanks to the members of public for waiting for me to get there and helping with the rescue. It was a difficult spot to get my equipment across the rocks, and then get the equipment plus a bagged wallaby back across!!

06.01.2022 Hi guys, I’m on the search for a nebuliser. Just wondering if anyone has one they don’t use anymore or are looking to sell second hand. It’s to hook up through my ICU unit for my compromised animals.

05.01.2022 Yesterday morning had a wake up call from a good friend, koala carer and wildlife guru who now lives in Adelaide. A poor little koala was sitting on the side of the road just outside her family’s property down here in the South East and she asked if I could help. Sadly upon examination at the vets his injuries were incompatible with successful rehabilitation and he had to be put to sleep. Heart breaking that someone could just hit and leave him there. Still trying to fund... raise for some critical, custom made koala rescue equipment if anyone is able to help. The cost for the equipment is still on my personal credit card at the moment, but you've got to do what you've got to do. paypal.com/paypalme/mtgwildlife Or bank account details BSB: 105-002 Account Number: 138 762 840 Tia. <3

05.01.2022 Bedtime already?

03.01.2022 A huge thank you to Rescue Craft Co and all the volunteers for the new pouches for the babies!! They love them already. Your hard work is always appreciated!

03.01.2022 Early morning call for this poor lady, stuck in a backyard of a vacant house.

03.01.2022 A young galah in tonight with a broken wing. Someone had hit him and his nest mate and left them on the road. Shout out to the lovely ladies from Fisheries that found him, called me and then waited half an hour with him for me to drive out and pick him up! He’ll be off to Second chance sanctuary tomorrow to buddy up with her other young galah.

02.01.2022 Haven’t had a full nights uninterrupted sleep since the bushfires started last year.

02.01.2022 A HUGE thank you to Frances Walsh for donating the money for a nebuliser and Gambier Village Pharmacy for giving me a discount on one. I’m putting it straight to use today!

01.01.2022 If you’re going away this long weekend please be aware there is full moon with little cloud cover at the moment which means more animals will be out and about. So please drive safely and call me any hour if you need help in the South East. Stay safe!
