15.01.2022 It’s been another great week in outback Queensland and once again, I’ve been blown away by everyone’s hospitality! Thank you Charleville, Cunnamulla and Roma! And I couldn’t do any of these clinics or kilometres without the amazing LVHC team - Bec, Deb and Greg too. Sending you three a huge thank you from me and everyone else out here! (In Charleville, I stay with John at Cobb & Co and at Cunnamulla I always stay with Dave and Tracy at Cunnamulla Tourist Park, Watson Street - they are the best and would love to have you all to stay!)

We are thinking of those families who have waited four to six years for a decent crop, only to have harvest thwarted by the much awaited but such ill-timed rains. Our hearts go out to you all .....

13.01.2022 What a fantastic week it’s been - Over 2000km traveled and four new clinic locations, all staffed by the most wonderful health care teams! I encourage you to ask your outback medical clinic receptionist / doctor / nurse / health care worker about their background and their dedication to caring for others. This week, we were lucky enough to hold clinics with team members who have worked in remote towns across nearly every Australian state; in the South Pacific, Asia and Afric...a. They all bring so much experience, skill and compassion to the communities they choose to work in. I am simply in awe of these amazing people and the incredible people who make up our outback communities. Thank you for the unsurpassed hospitality and warm, welcoming smiles. And a very special thank you to the tireless Loma Vata team, led by Bec and Deb - You two are simply inspirational! To all of our supporters - without you, we would be nothing. Thank you! 12.01.2022 It’s National Diabetes Week! How many types of Diabetes do you know of? There are many different diabetes classification tables and as we continue to gain new knowledge about diabetes, these tables are regularly updated. ... However, the The American Diabetes Association classification shown here is still one of my favourites - It clearly demonstrates how many types of Diabetes Mellitus there are and reminds us to think beyond Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes.

03.01.2022 Due to the hazardous weather conditions with similar weather forecast as the week progresses, we have been advised not to take Comet out West this coming week. We are currently unable to travel safely to Oakey, Dalby, St George and Goondiwindi. Parts of the Warrego Highway, Cecil Plains Road, Gore Highway and Leichhardt Highway are reported as either impassable or damaged. ... We will be conducting Telehealth clinics instead although we understand that internet and phone communication may also be adversely affected in some locations. Thank you for your understanding.
