24.01.2022 Senior training update: With restrictions continuing to be lifted we are beginning to work through the paperwork and guidelines that we will need to follow to resume senior training. Due to different venue sizes as well as the different amount of playing members wanting to participate in volleyball, some clubs may complete the requirements quicker than others. Multiple meetings have been had between the senior coaches and committee who have been working hard behind the scene...s to get everything ready to resume training as soon as possible. There is still lots of work to do before we can announce a starting date. Please be aware that if you havent filled out the online survey OR contacted the senior mens or womens coach letting them know youre keen to play in 2020 than you wont be able to turn up without prior communication once we do resume. If you plan on playing please either fill out the survey or contact Derek/Scott ASAP! 24.01.2022 Do you want to play in the 2020 Junior League Volleyball Season for Mt Lofty? We have opened expressions of interest for all U15-U19 male and female players who are interested in giving volleyball a try. U15, U17 and U19 divisions are available in the 2020 Junior League season played on Friday nights during Terms 2 and 3. Depending on interest, we will hopefully look to have at least 1 male and 1 female team entered in this years competition. The Mt Lofty junior teams are... open to anyone interested in giving the sport a try. These teams will be made up of players outside of the Heathfield High School Volleyball program, who enter school based teams through the club. 24.01.2022 2020 Senior Presentation Night The senior playing group, coaches, committee and life members enjoyed an amazing presentation night at the Arkaba Hotel on Friday 13th of November. It was fantastic to meet as a group to reflect and celebrate an amazing 2020 season from our senior teams. We got extremely lucky to have our awards night after what's transpired over the weekend with most of the other clubs needing to cancel/postpone their end of season events. ... We will have a full list of award recipients once the photos from the event become available later this week!

24.01.2022 2020 AGM On Monday 9th of November the Mt Lofty Volleyball Club held its annual AGM at the Bridgewater Inn. The Mt Lofty Volleyball Club would like to thank the committee, coaches, players, families and supporters in what's been a different year! The way that the community has come together and supported eachother through this year has been incredible.... 23.01.2022 MT LOFTY JUNIOR PLAYERS WANTED Expressions of interest closing THIS FRIDAY 12th of March! We are extremely close to having enough interest for a boys and girls side! The Mt Lofty Volleyball Club is wanting to rejuvenate its REDS Junior Program this winter! The Mt Lofty REDS Junior Program is aimed at local juniors who aren’t involved in the Heathfield Special Interest Volleyball program and would like to take their game to the next level after Spikezone. ... We are looking for junior (U15 to U19 divisions) male and female players interested in playing 6 aside volleyball in the Volleyball SA Friday night competition during Term 2 and 3. Here is some general information regarding the requirements to be involved; - Must be available to train on a Tuesday night at the Mt Lofty Community Sports Centre (Approx 4.30pm 6pm) - Must be available to play on Friday nights during Term 2 and 3 - Games are at 6.30pm, 7.40pm or 8.50pm all over Adelaide (Mt Lofty Community Sports Centre, Brighton Secondary School, The Arc Campbelltown, Marion Leisure centre, Unley High School). - Cost for the season will be determined if we have enough numbers for a team. This will cover competition fees, coaching fees, trainings, uniform and any other costs associated with running the team For a team to be viable, we will need at least 8 players committed to the season that can participate in the same age group/division. The Mt Lofty Volleyball Club is asking for expressions of interest for anyone keen to be involved in the REDS program this year. We ask for you to email club president Peter Giannes ([email protected]) so we can gauge the interest in the local community. 23.01.2022 Tonight senior teams returned to training under strict procedures and guidelines. It was great to see everyone back out on the court as we re-start our 2020 journey! Coaches will again be in contact via email with next weeks training times and groups later this week. Please keep in contact with the senior coaches to let them know your availability! Thanks to everyone for being flexible with the procedures that weve had to put in place to get everyone back training. ... Also a massive thanks to VSA for the free hand sanitiser and extra support to get us back up and running!

22.01.2022 Both the mens and womens squads will be on this Tuesday (6.30pm - 8pm) at the Mt Lofty Community Sports Centre. Pizza after training to give the chance for everyone to catch up - free for those who attend training! 20.01.2022 The 2020 volleyball season comes to an end today with our Division 2 Men going for Gold this afternoon against USC Lion at 3.50pm. Due to only being allowed 20 spectators that will be taken by family and friends of the players, we will make sure the game is live streamed to the page!

20.01.2022 Finals Wrap Up 2020 And just like that the 2020 volleyball season has come to an end! Congratulations to all players, coaches, families and supporters on getting through a year like nothing we have ever experienced before and still finding a way to play some great volleyball on the court. Our 21 junior sides played hard over 9 Friday nights during the regular season with 9 making finals. 4 made it through to the Grand Final with our SLJ Boys putting on a clinic to take the Go...ld. A special mention to Bryce Colotti was judged best on court. We had 4 of our 5 senior men and both senior women's sides make the finals series. The League and reserve Women lost lost elimination finals but are already keen to bounce back and improve on that in 2021. The 4 Men's sides progressed through to the Grand Final with the Reserve, Division 1 and Division 2 Men taking out the 2020 title. Congratulations! Our League Men battled right until the end of the match going down 11-15 in the 5th to take silver. A fabulous achievement with a few of our starters from the 2018 and 2019 championship winning teams not playing in 2020. Alexei Fey, Elliot Keith and Jordan Colotti received individual accolades by being judged best on court in their Grand Finals while Keenan O'Malley was judged by head coach Ben Williamson to be the Division 1 Men's most valuable. Keep an eye out on the Facebook on Friday the 13th of November as we head to the Arkaba Hotel to celebrate the 2020 season at our Senior Awards Dinner. Award winners will be posted here on the page!

19.01.2022 Round 2 of the SAVL kicks off tomorrow! A reminder to all players and spectators that we must be following the rules and guidelines outlined by the Australian Government and Volleyball SA at all times. These include: - Don't attend the venue if you're feeling unwell ... - Players being thoughtful when it comes to team celebrations and huddles by substituting high-fives with foot/elbow taps and keeping their personal distance when communicating with the team at time outs/end of sets. - No use of the taps to re-fill drink bottles so bring enough water to last pre/during/post game. - Following social distancing rules when spectating/playing/on the bench. VSA will be making an effort to spread out seating to allow this. Please DON'T stand together around a court or move the seating that has been set out by VSA. 06.01.2022 COVID-19 Update, Trainings this Tuesday 17/03/20 to still go ahead. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic the Mt Lofty Volleyball Club will put the following procedures in place during training this week to reduce the risk of an outbreak. - All players will be required to wash their hands before and after volleyball training with water and soap... - All players will be required to use hand sanitiser that will be provided before and after volleyball training - We will be cleaning all volleyballs with antibacterial wipes before training begins. - We ask for all players to bring their own drink bottle as the drink fountains will not be used (you will be able to fill water bottles up) The pizza after training will still go ahead, but we again will be putting in precautions to ensure that correct food handling procedures are followed to reduce the risk of transmitted bacteria. 01.01.2022 The Mt Lofty Volleyball Club are extremely excited to announce our League Coaches for the 2020 season! We welcome Scott Huff to the coaching group as he takes on the League Womens coaching role. Scott comes to the club with a wealth of knowledge and is extremely excited to be back coaching at a high level. A bit of background about Scott: - Has played, coached and managed Heathfield Honours teams for 18 years... - Played and coached state volleyball - Sturt U18 Football assistant coach - focus on fitness and conditioning - Coached senior football - Teacher I am really excited to be back involved with the Mt Lofty Volleyball Club and seeing the current and future players develop and experience success. Scott Huff On the Mens side we have Derek Slater returning as the League Mens coach for 2020. Derek has had an extremely successful time here at the club, with the League Men winning both the 2018 and 2019 premierships under his guidance. The Mens squad had an extremely successful 2019, winning all 4 premierships with the aim to achieve this again in 2020. We are still looking for a reserve womens coach for the 2020 season.
