A meeting was held by the Dawso...n Jockey Club last night and it was decided that we do not have the ability to maintain the new COVID19 restrictions that will have to be in place. However! We are looking into having a replacement race day in the near future! We will keep you posted when we have more details! We would like to thank all the supporters of the Dawson Jockey Club and apologise for any inconvenience caused. DJC.

08.01.2022 Below is just a taste of the regulations/ restrictions placed on race clubs who are considering allowing general public to attend their race day. Mt Perry Race Club is watching the ever changing announcements and will make its decision on crowd attendance at the end of this month. To those who have already made enquiries, we do appreciate your interest in our day.....stay watching. Treatment of Camping as a Separate Event Racing clubs are to establish the camping activity as... a detached event from the race meeting. To do this the ‘Camp-out Event’ needs to be separated and physically located away and from the area where the race meet is conducted. Racing clubs will need to apply the Queensland Government’s Industry Framework for COVID Safe Events to manage the ‘Camp-out Event’. Facility Requirements For the camping activity to function as a separate ‘Camp-out Event’, racing clubs must adhere to the following facility requirements: Establish set boundaries separating areas controlled by the existing Industry Plan for racing, and the camping area that will operate under the COVID Safe Event Framework. The camping area requires its own separate facilities/amenities exclusively for campers with no sharing of facilities with the racing area, except where essential racing personnel camp at the facility, in which case they should be encouraged to use the exclusive facilities in the licenced participant area to limit their contact with the public campers. If racing clubs do not have separate facilities/amenities exclusively for camping, then they may only offer accommodation to self-contained caravaners (i.e. vans with on board shower/toilet). The following guidelines are to be adopted for the ‘Camp-out Event‘ area: o Camping area population is limited to one person per 4 square metres. o Camping area population is limited to a maximum of 20 people per toilet facility. o Designated camp sites are to be 15 metres apart. o Physical distancing requirements are to be strictly adhered to. o Monitor camp set-ups to ensure they are within the designated camp sites. o Ensure physical distancing signage is visible within camping areas, especially within the amenities. o Frequent environment cleaning and disinfection must be maintained, with additional cleaning of the camping area amenities required during peak usage times, such as mornings and evenings. o Hand and respiratory hygiene must be encouraged. o Monitor levels of hand soaps and/or hand sanitiser in the camping area amenities. o Any person who has symptoms related to Covid-19 must be excluded from the site. o Contact information must be kept for all persons for contact tracing purposes, including name, email, mobile number and the date and time period of their camping stay. Information must be retained for at least 56 days. o The club is to develop Covid Safe protocols which detail how the above conditions will be met. See more

08.01.2022 OFFICIAL STATEMENT COVID-19 - 25 May 2020 It is with heavy hearts that we have made the difficult decision not to stage the Birdsville Races this year. As much... as we were holding onto the hope that we could run them, we’re at a point where we’ve had to concede defeat. The health of our patrons, and those who live in Outback Queensland, is of paramount importance to us - and it is impossible to know what the status with Covid-19 will be come September. We thank all our event partners, including Tourism & Events Queensland and Racing Queensland, for their support as we held onto the reins hoping we’d ride this crisis out and stage a spectacular comeback this year. Unfortunately that is no longer an option. We hope that you spare a thought for us on the first Saturday in September and make plans to join us again in 2021. The on-sale date of tickets to the 2021 Birdsville Races will be announced in the coming months with race entry and trackside hospitality options also available for pre-purchase. 07.01.2022 We should be racing on the 14th November all going well. So stay safe, see you in November

02.01.2022 Racing returns to Keppel Park, Yeppoon on Saturday but while fields will be sizeable those attending will only be racing stakeholders. Article by Tony McMahon Y...eppoon Turf Club’s new president Paul Hoolihan confirmed that the meeting would be patron free meaning that racegoers would not be allowed on track. Regrettably we have no option but to make this a patron free meeting as the club just does not have the resources or facilities to comply with management of the protocols brought about by COVID 19. We would certainly wish we could have racegoers on course but unfortunately that is not possible at present, Hoolihan said. It will be a similar scenario for the Rockhampton Jockey Club for the TAB meeting at Callaghan Park racecourse next Tuesday. Similarly, the Gladstone Turf Club staged a no patrons on course race meeting at Ferguson Park last Saturday week. Yeppoon has received 64 nominations for Saturday’s races ensuring that the five-race card whereby almost $50K in stake money is on offer will be very competitive. Hoolihan said that the Yeppoon Turf Club had been the recent beneficiary of a racing grant of $190,000 which would be utilised for three projects. It will provide for a new running rail for the course proper whereby the current rail will be relocated for the training track. As well a new stewards tower is being built which may also house a broadcaster’s box. Furthermore, part of the grant will go towards an upgraded irrigation pump for the track. Racing Queensland has had officials up here at the track in preparation for the work to commence, he said. Rockhampton jockey Ashley Butler was among the winners at the Mackay Turf Club races last Tuesday. Butler was successful on Callaghan Park trainer Peter Fleming’s Sing For Violet as well as on Roadhouse for resident Mackay trainer Olivia Cairns. Rockhampton trainer Ricky Vale’s Trump Me also won at Mackay under Brisbane hoop Ryan Wiggins. Stewards reported they fined Vale $500 after finding two used syringes in his vehicle at Mackay. Rockhampton jockey Zoe White’s was also fined $300 over a whip rule infringement. In a busy day for stewards Mackay jockey Girish Goomany, a regular at Rocky TAB meetings was fined $1000 for weighing in light on his mount Reef Master which was subsequently disqualified. The Chris Attard, Rockhampton trained Danawi has drawn widely for its appearance at Doomben in Brisbane on Saturday. Danawi has come up with barrier 10 in the $75K BM 75 Handicap (1350m) and will be ridden by claiming apprentice jockey Adin Thompson. A Rockhampton winner two starts back before failing in Brisbane, Danawi is one of a large group of horses Attard trains under the banner of Ares Racing Australia. Meanwhile, Rockhampton trainer Lyle Rowe who sustained head injuries in a Callaghan Park horse related incident almost two weeks a
