25.01.2022 Vale Peter Fallu It is with deep regret that I have to inform you that Pete Fallu, passed away at 12.30 on Monday February 3rd surrounded by his family.... Though Peter never played a game for the club he was an active Club supporter over a long period of not only the cricket club, but also the football club. Peter was an inaugural balcony club member and club supporter for around 20 years; he lost his battle with pancreatic cancer yesterday. He put up a brave fight and has been seen this season attending games on his scooter, as it was a place he felt comfortable during this terrible illness. RIP mate, your company on the balcony as well as club support will be sorely missed. Sincere condolences to Sandra, Lisa, Travis and his grand kids. Funeral details update: Next Monday Feb. 10, 10.30 am at William Mathews Funeral Parlour, Lilydale.

20.01.2022 Our major raffle for 2019/20 is underway - raffle tickets should be in your hands by now - if you're yet to receive yours, please reach out to your captain, team manager or age group co-coordinator this week, or early in the new year. In addition to the great opportunity to win - Fundraising is always important for the club, with over 25 teams and over 300 registered players, these funds are important to ensure our community continue to get the best access to quality resources, facilities, equipment and coaches. It's really important that every one in our community supports this initiative and we sell as many tickets as possible!

20.01.2022 As part of our social calendar, on Janurary 19 we have organised a bus trip from Mt Waverley reserve through the Yarra Valley. Tickets cost $55 and include transport to and from Mt Waverley Reserve, a visit to 3 venues with included tastings at 2 of the venues. It is the only new item that is compulsory to purchase this year. If you do not have or are unsure of your allocated one day shirt number please communicate asap with Sheeds. If you are a junior player and want to play Senior Cricket this summer please organise your required apparel. We play all one day games in coloured clothing and two day games in creams. The club will NOT be carrying much if any stock this summer, so its imperative that we all get on and do our orders. The shop will SHUT in 2 weeks on Sunday 30th of August and orders will be delivered in 6 weeks to the club and distributed to each of you. 04.01.2022 At last night’s Senior Presentation night, the Club welcomed Chris Halge as our 52nd Life Member. Chris has made a major contribution over the last 13 years including the following. 7 years as Team Manager/Coach of his sons Jason’s team from under 11’s through to under 17’s. 3 seasons as a Team Manager/Coach of junior teams where we were short on resources to take these roles on. He had no family playing in these teams. The last 11 seasons as our Club Umpire at Pinewo...od Reserve, umpiring VSDCA 3rd and 4th XI matches. He has also umpired a handful of 2nd XI matches, Craig Shield and mid week T20 games. Commenced umpiring our 5th XI this season in the Cricket Bayside competition. Has played 30 matches in our Vet’s Cricket program. Right arm medium pace bowler. Has for many years been our chief BBQ and Thursday night meal co-ordinator. Well done Chris on a wonderful achievement and most deservedly recognised with a Life Membership presentation. It was great to have no only yourself, but your wife Valerie present on the night.
