25.01.2022 Hi all, Just to let you all know that YES WE WILL BE STILL TRAINING this week at least. As we are all aware, health warnings and recommendations are changing day to day and I personally believe it won’t be too long until all schools are closed for a period of time and the start of our winter sports will also be postponed. I also need to ask that all member registration fees will need to be paid ASAP too. This is a requirement that at times I am a little (actually very) lax ...about at times as I know there are many families with more than one member training. Unfortunately my BJMA requirements and insurance payment time frame have also changed with the current situation, so to make sure everyone is covered, I will require payments this week if possible. As we are relatively small in class sizes and predominantly all members are from a few families, at this stage we will continue to hold training, this of course could change at any time if the relevant health advice & recommendations are to cancel these sort of trainings. These are strangely evolving times we are in at the moment, but with good cooperation and a positive mindset, we will see this out quickly. There will not be any; - self defence practice, - close combat training - sparring during classes until advised otherwise. Many other Martial Arts clubs are not using any pads at all for the foreseeable future and I will be utilising drills that will also limit pad work. Bring your own gloves and shin pads to training for your own personal use. The following is taken from another BJMA member club that I’m adding to this post. 1/ Please wash hands upon arrival and leaving. 2/ We are only doing drills, forms and fitness work. 3/ Please do not share equipment or drink bottles. 4/ Please avoid handshakes and backslaps , elbow bumps are a better alternative 5/ No clinches or extreme close contact work please. 6/ If you feel unwell, have a cough, sore throat or even sneezing, please do not come to training. By practising social distancing and pristine hygiene we can help contain the spread of this virus. The containment of this virus will be driven by communities working together. As always I value other opinions as this is your Club so please if you have any concerns or comments please contact me. Whether you agree with what I’d happening with all the shut downs, recommendations for this and that etc, we are in totally unprecedented times right now so any recommendations from the relevant health authorities will be taken on board. 25.01.2022 There will be NO TRAINING TONIGHT, Wednesday 9th October... NSW school holidays are still happening so everyone enjoy the last few days of your holidays and we will get back into action next Wednesday, Kidz class at 6pm and Adults at 7pm.

24.01.2022 We are back into it night after the NSW school holidays, Kids at 6pm & Adults at 7pm as usual. Now that football, netball and soccer are finished for the year, now is the time to come and see what we do and why we train. Keep your fitness levels up and learning new skills doing something different... Fun, fitness, confidence and self defence

16.01.2022 And we are back.... it’s been a long 6months of no training due to Covid-19, but we are back into it at Tocumwal Registered as Covid Safe business in NSW and following all required protocols and procedures to allow us to reopen, and it’s good to be back. Kids class at 5.30pm and Adults at 6.30pm. There’s been plenty of pent up frustration smashed into the pads tonight and there’s nothing better than hitting the pads to let it out, plenty of spots available if you are interested in coming along.

We will give you a list of activities that you can complete while you’re at home so you don’t have to think of what to do on the spot! 14.01.2022 I’ve been so fortunate to meet and talk to this man during the 17 years I’ve been involved with martial arts in training and teaching. When this man talks you l...isten and always learn. A lifetime of training and changing life’s, one could only hope to leave a legacy a fraction of what this human has done. Congratulations At 10pm last night Soke Bob accepted his 10th degree promotion. At 80 years of age and after 55years of training The Chief has reached the pinnacle of any martial art. This however is not the end but simply a new beginning. The Chief never accepts a rank as a way to rest but as an opportunity to explore further. He is a pioneer of the martial arts and can easily be put up as one of it not THE most influential person on the Australasian Martial Arts scene. See more

12.01.2022 Hello everyone! Hope you’re all doing well! If you were unaware, as we are a NSW club, we are only allowed to cater training up to 10 people. However, we are not permitting any use of pad work until further notice. ... We have been running sessions over at Nathalia to determine what we can do, and it has turned out to be a success thus far. Now, it’s your turn, but we need your help. To ensure that you want to participate, we need you to let us know as we want to make sure we have enough numbers. If we get enough numbers, we will proceed. As there is no weekend sport happening, we will be running these sessions either on a Saturday/Sunday, depending on what day suits everyone. With these sessions, it will purely be based on a boot camp session, so fitness will be your best friend. If you have any friends that want to join, let us know and we’ll cater to that! Feel free to comment on the post if you or the kids will be attending as we need to make sure we get the right amount of numbers. First session to be determined. Thank you!

Martial Arts might be just what you have been looking for so why not come along and have a go. We train for fitness, self defence, to challenge yourself with a bit of fun thrown in for good measure. You can start your journey towards that elusive Black Belt you have heard about or start training to improve co-ordination, confidence, self esteem and discover you are capable of much more than you ever imagined!! You can even train for sports combat if you want to test yourself in the Muay Thai/Kickboxing ring. Male & Female, young or old, fit or unfit it doesn’t matter, everyone is welcome to come along and train with us. Training recommences Wednesday 16th Sept 2020 We are thrilled to announce that training for kids and adults will start again at the Tocumwal Lions Care Centre (old Bowling Club) after the extended break due to the Covid-19 situation. Kids class will start at 5.30pm and Adults at 6.30pm. We are also offering Personal Training in Self Defence as individual or up to groups of 4 people. We are Covid Safe Registered in NSW and Covid Safe protocols and regulations will be in place. Numbers are limited to 20 people per session, so please message or call me to reserve your spot. You will need your own water bottle, towel, skipping rope and gloves or hand wraps. 11.01.2022 Hello everyone, we will be having a return to training session on this Sunday morning at 10am. This will be held at the Tocumwal Footy ground at the netball courts. Training is open to everyone young and old, make or female and all fitness levels. It’s been a long 4months of not training and with restrictions in NSW easing in regards to sports we are going to trial some outdoor training sessions. After checking and rechecking the latest Covid restrictions in NSW, we can have ...up to 20 people training in a group. There will be two instructors on Sunday so we have plenty of capacity for up to 40 people in separate groups. Still let us know if you’re coming along please. There will be some protocols in place for Covid safety reasons of course, and bring your own full drink bottles, a personal towel if you need it, a yoga style mat if you have one, and your own gloves if you have them. Meet at the netball courts as that’s and you will be training in your shoes, no uniform requirements so just wear comfortable appropriate clothing. Let’s get everyone there, and get some sweat happening and get back to training. And we will be training even if it’s foggy in the morning.. Looking forgot seeing everyone on Sunday. 10am start!!! For the kids class bring your Nerf Shoo...ters and water guns etc and a towel.... adults if you want to come early and get into the fun too then bring your A game. We will be having 2 weeks off and start training again on Wednesday 6th January. Even if you can’t train tomorrow, come down for a bit to say hi. 05.01.2022 Welcome everyone to 2020! Hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and new year! We are returning to normal classes on the 5th of Feb! Only 3 more weeks! We are welcoming all students, new, old, children, adults, everyone!... Classes are as listed; Kids: aged 4-13, 6pm start Adults: 13+, 7pm start We are still located at the old bowls club! You’re more than welcome to bring anyone along! What better way to start your preseason journey for sports, gain knowledge about defending yourself/awareness and to improve fitness! Hope to see you there!

03.01.2022 Hi all, The message beneath is for my Martial Arts students but if anyone else is struggling in these strange times then feel free to contact me for a chat or ...even a few work out drills, even if you’ve never done any sort of physical training before or you need something to help you without your usual sports happening there is never a better time to learn some Martial Arts basics. It’s more than just punching and kicking, it’s about Body-Mind-Spirit and and the balance between them all and martial arts is a great way to find your own balance. We might be socially distanced from others but we have never been closer with the technology of today. FaceTime, Skype and all the other ways to keep in touch and learn techniques and work outs we can do at home. There are going to be thousands of people with extra time due to various reasons, forced unemployment will be a major reason (as it will be for myself) so depression, anxiety and other problems will start becoming issues for many people. So instead of sitting and dwelling and panicking about what’s to come, let’s use this time for a reset in our thinking and look at what you can do, we are resilient and we will get through this. It’s not a matter of finding time to do things anymore but how to use this time you now have. Netflix and movie marathons will be prominent for us all but so should walking the dog or taking a nature walk with the family, look at nature and feel the breeze in a relaxed mode instead of the hectic rush around world we normally live in, where we miss seeing and hearing and feeling so much of what goes on around us. If you need some drills to practice or training to do at home then send me a message, you don’t need much room at home to work out and very little specialised equipment. Be kind to each other, help each other and just be a bloody good human.. Just Back Yourself (I’m going to be using this motto of a very good friend and mentor that he uses at his own Martial Arts Club, I have asked his permission not to breach copyright rules ) #backyourself Tocumwal Martial Arts & Nathalia Martial Arts With today’s announcements by both the Federal and State governments I have no other choice than to suspend all training until further notice. As we are all aware the COVID-19 situation has been changing day to day and hour to hour and as much as I was hoping to keep small classes running, as we all need an outlet and it helps both physically and mentally to do what we do at training but things have changed too fast and dramatically in the last few days. As such all training is suspended immediately but I will be at our training venue in Nathalia on Monday night from 5pm, and at Tocumwal at 6pm on Wednesday as I’m happy to give people a pad and focus mitts to use at home while we aren’t training so come down tomorrow and have a chat about things and grab a pad to train at home with. I’m going to be posting workouts that would be an hourlong home training, so I’ll be working on sessions for all of us to keep training and keep ready when we can restart. In the overall scheme of our Martial Arts journey involving a lifetime of practice, this really is just a blip and it will pass. Keep the spirits up, don’t dwell on what you cannot do, but what you can. #backyourself

03.01.2022 Tocumwal Martial Arts returns to training this Wednesday at 6.30pm. There will be no dedicated Kidz class for the next two weeks but kids are able to train at 6....30pm with the adults. Everyone is welcome from Tocumwal and Nathalia clubs as well as anyone wanting a training session. Those of you living in Victoria are able to cross the border into NSW freely as you are residing within the border bubble and only need your license as your proof of residence at the Border Checkpoints, you do not need any other permit. We had Covid Kilo’s to get rid of and now we all have to get out our Holiday slump and get as many as possibly to our first training on Wednesday night We will also be celebrating a birthday on Wednesday night at training, and there will be a cake as a special surprise... shh it’s a secret though. With both Vic & NSW on schoo...l holidays, and as it’s been a huge year so far and now all the local football and netball seasons and grand finals are over, we will have a week off to rest and recharge yourselves... Actually it’s probably more myself that needs a rest! So enjoy the holidays and the glorious sunshine and warm weather this week and we will be back training as usual next week. See more
